Just2FishAs this fits with the headline starting prices in Q4 of the Enyaq, being £3,999, I think that it’s probably correct, being on a Skoda dealer’s website. No Sportline/SportLine Plus it appears.. https://www.vantagemotorgroup.co.uk/motability/skoda/offers/enyaq/

The 80 vs the 80x has been discussed in facebook groups and, unless you’re towing, the difference is minimal. Worse turning circle, slightly quicker but slightly less range too. I’d definitely go with the 80.
The same groups are convinced that from week 44 the MY24 models will be built and they’re going to have the bigger batteries. My view is that the 80 is good enough, if ordering one gets me one, I won’t be disappointed but if an 85 is built for me then it’s a bonus.

I'll try to give my honest opinion but am always open to learning.Mark
October 2, 2023 at 6:45 pm #236048The battery is exactly the same, the increase in range and power comes from the new Samsung controller and battery management system along with the new more efficient and more powerful motor/s.

DafNot very impressed with Skoda, cant get a straight answer. Spoke to the online chat service who referred me to my local dealer even though I had already told them that I had already spoken to my dealers who to use a “Faulty Towers” said “I know nothing”!
I have sent Skoda a text asking for clarification and will publish the reply. I just looked at the EV database site and they are showing the 85 available in several EU countries but not available in the UK. It may be we have to accept that the UK is pretty much at the back of the queue and that we get the 80 rather than the 85, although I do hope I will be pleasantly surprised.

290 (80)/280 (80x) according to evdb which is frankly encouraging. If they can tweak that above 300 with the 85/x then it really is a game changer ?
Ok ok I’ll go take a look and see what the voice control is like .. see if I can live without using the stupid touchscreen
"Come on BYD Seal!"October 2, 2023 at 7:10 pm #236057Oops that was for the coupé, 270/265 is still impressive considering it’s a shed.
"Come on BYD Seal!"October 2, 2023 at 8:28 pm #236078The skoda uk website still only has the 80 on it, no L &K either, but the skoda UK media website also doesn’t yet have the 85 press release.
Until that turns up on the UK website, I can’t see the dealers talking about a car you can’t currently order
It might turn up tomorrow, but Skoda are launching the new Kodiaq, so perhaps waiting yo make all the changes at once?

OlpkNo point contacting Skoda.
I’ve just had a telephone and email response to my request from customer services.
It was a joke. They just directed me to the dealer. I said I’d tried speaking to 3.
His response, believe it or not, was “we don’t deal with the car side of things”.
October 3, 2023 at 1:58 pm #236182Suprisingly no call back from the dealer yesterday, rang at 9am and again salesman is nowhere to be found.
Promised another call back this morning, now 2pm and no call 🙁

October 3, 2023 at 2:33 pm #236191From the skoda website under the L&K…
“New preheating function for all Enyaq variants from the 2024 model year onwards
The Enyaq Laurin & Klement is equipped with the latest ME4 vehicle software, which will be included in all Enyaq family models produced later this year onwards. The new software adds numerous improvements and new features. These include a preheating function, which brings the battery to an optimal temperature before charging begins.”
Note the bold (which I added) – I’m sure I read somewhere that the ME4 software was NOT compatible with the 60 or 80 models (I’m guessing hardware related) – this seems to indicate that ALL enyaqs will change over. Having said that, all would include 60’s so I may well be drawing conclusions based on the compatibility which are wrong…
I know I posted the same basic info on another thread but it seemed appropriate here too…
"Man is born in freedom, but he soon becomes a slave, in cages of convention, from the cradle, to the grave."
October 3, 2023 at 2:53 pm #236199I’ve previously posted the leaked documents from Skoda that show all the variants that will change to MY24 on week 44. There seems to be conflicting information being shared on here.
We will see soon anyway.October 3, 2023 at 3:15 pm #236205
OlpkI posted a video earlier in this thread and the guy had been provided official information from Skoda including full hardware specs and ME4 screenshots.
That video confirms build from week 44.
Far too many people putting 2 and 2 together and getting 5
October 3, 2023 at 3:21 pm #236207@olpk again, that vlogger us European. Until the 24MY changes are announced in the UK, we don’t know when they will start for the UK market.
Yes 2 +2 =5 if you take the basis if a European vloggers week 44 as the date for the UK as read.
I am ordering on 14th October and quite frankly, I’m nit really fussed if uts 23 or 24 my spec as the 23 with the Maxx pack gives ne everything I want anyway

OlpkLast time I checked we where still European.
<p style=”text-align: center;”>That Vlogger if you watch it has been provided with official Skoda information.</p>
Skoda is changing the 80 production to 85 for everyone. Why on earth would anyone think that they are going to keep the UK at some disadvantage and have 2 productions for an old and new version of the same car.
The only differences from country to country are specs of equipment and option packs. Not the physical car itself.
The week 44 has been discussed in many places including with me and 3 different Skoda dealers.
I’m currently on my 3rd Enyaq order this year. I cancelled my last order on 10/9 and I was already told to expect the 2024 due to expected build date. I ordered an 80x on 13th and don’t even have a sniff of a build week and my expected delivery is end of January early February.
The RHD market is the smallest market Skoda sell to. One look on the Skoda stock list shows there isn’t a vast stock of RHD enyaqs sitting for them to get rid of.
I know when the Sportline plus etc where added to motability that a lot of stock cleared from the Skoda stock list as I tried to get a car for myself but missed out on a few.
That article makes no reference to limiting the VRS to 85 spec or having it equipped to 85 spec earlier than any other model.
So that article does nothing to contradict the vast amount of information to the contrary of that theory.
October 3, 2023 at 5:23 pm #236219Phoned the dealer at 4:30, still can’t get hold of the motability salesman 🙁
So, went online and had a chat with Motability re-dealers lack of interest to see if they could do it their end, they said give it until the end of the week.
I’m tempted to pop in again tomorrow as I’m pretty nearby taking my ex to the dentist as our main bus operator is on a 1 week strike. Otherwise it’s a 22 mile round trip via central Durham which is pretty awful now the students are back and there’s a lot more cars about with the bus strike.
Please excuse spelling/typos. Apart from being a clot it turns out I had one on my cerebellum that's now causing various problems!
October 3, 2023 at 5:44 pm #236224@Olpk Indeed we are European but, that doen’t mean all Eurpeans get the same, infact it the difference can be worlds apart – The EU for example get vehicles we haven’t seen light or day of!
As I said on the VRS thread earlier Germany got the 85 models in September, the Netherelands October. In the UK you can technically still do a factory order for a 80 model. As for the UK Skoda media have announced we will be getting the L&K 85, with no mention of any others frm the lineup, we don’t yet know when we will get the VRS but I belive its available as the rs (sr) in Germany.
However all good things come to those who wait. Perhaps the delay of any notification other than the L&K is down to the fact we drive on the opposite side of the road, (the reason why the EU get more cars than us.) and Skoda have yet to switch the new model to rhd, I don’t know but Skoda would be a fool not to give the 85 across the range given the government is sticking to its EV mandate.
October 3, 2023 at 6:33 pm #236228When I was in our local Skoda dealership yesterday the Motability rep (who I’ve known for a couple of years) said to me, “In all honesty you probably know more than me about future models and tech changes.”
He went on to say that dealers get absolutely no forward info from Skoda about changes”. Apparently they often hear updates from customers before they are told. He said they were expecting to hear news about the new version of the Kodiak before any updates on the Enyaq, but they have literally been told nothing for months.
It seems that Skoda could massively benefit from reading this forum (and others) in order to bring their business communication model up to an acceptable level.
October 3, 2023 at 6:47 pm #236230The big change is the increased power of the motors. This is being rolled out across all of the VAG companies so I can’t see how they will be building cars with the old motors which surely won’t be available anymore.
October 3, 2023 at 6:49 pm #236231@olpk, sorry, but youvare wrong.
No one has said we will not get the 85, but mo one outside Skoda management knows when.
The 80 can and still will be produced as the operating system for the 80 us exactly the same system as the 60 and the 50
Not all markets may get the 85 any more so than all markets got the 50. European cars have had the heat pumpnas standard, for example, for a long tine, where we have to pay extra.
I have not heard that India, Australia, New Zealand, Rire, or even Japan have receiced the 85 TO ORDER
At this moment in time, you cannot go into a UK Skoda dealer and order a 85, where you can in Germany.
We don’t even know if the 85 will appear on the Motability scheme, it’s not a straight swap, but a new car.
As Skida have yet to release their motability price lust online, nwe don’t know if it will say 80s can be ordered, or if only available from stock. VAG have done this before on model changes
Yes, we are in Europe, but, like other European countries, specifications cary from country to country.
October 3, 2023 at 7:19 pm #236232Does anyone know if the current VRS has the same style seats as the Sportline? I want to go and check out the Enyak, but the closest dealer only has a VRS, and the next closest only a non Sportline car in the showroom.
October 3, 2023 at 7:32 pm #236235Audi’s Q4 Etron 45 was available to order from the end of September with first deliveries expected December/January. Given Audi’s position in the VAG group, I expect the larger battery will filter down the line to the other marques. The big question will VW have the advantage over Skoda or will they get the larger battery at the same time?
October 3, 2023 at 7:35 pm #236234
OlpkI’m not wrong in anyway.
You have read an article and gained a conclusion that isn’t suggested or supported in what you read.
It’s an advert for the VRS.
I was merely pointing out there is a vast array of confirmed information that lends more weight to the contrary of you’re assumption.
When Skoda themselves released info on the 29/9 they didn’t state ‘only in certain markets’.
I’ve now had two seperate dealers telling me cars I’ve ordered are coming as 85.
My doubts are that others dealers plead ignorance. I tried to clarify with Skoda and they just tell you to speak to your dealer. So which is right.
Kezo yes we didn’t get the 50 but that’s totally different as that is purely an omission in our market not running 2 production processes.
Yes Germany got it on their configurator but that in itself doesn’t say much. Some German dealers had the 85 on their sites months ago but you couldn’t order one. Yes it’s now on their configurator but dealers small print has a caveat about production start.
We are all a bit in the dark but that VRS press release does not in anyway contradict the expected process.
October 3, 2023 at 7:39 pm #236237Does anyone know if the current VRS has the same style seats as the Sportline? I want to go and check out the Enyak, but the closest dealer only has a VRS, and the next closest only a non Sportline car in the showroom.
If you look at images of both cars interior, the seats look the same apart from the VRS logo.

October 3, 2023 at 7:41 pm #236238Just a brief comment on the Audi Q4 Etron. I sat in one at a dealership in Worcester and was surprised at how small and cramped it felt. The Sport version was also unimpressive in comparison to the higher spec models.
October 3, 2023 at 7:44 pm #236239Kezo yes we didn’t get the 50 but that’s totally different as that is purely an omission in our market not running 2 production processes.

I expect my previous reply (quoted) is the reason. Its common for hierarchy in the VW group 🙂
