Having run two of the boxy X Trails previously, I’m very much liking Nissan’s design shift on the model, back to a more muscular overall look.
Time will tell whether we see it on the scheme in any decent level of specification.
I’m not usually a fan of white cars so much, but the new design suits it I think …

Mazda are doing this now with their new MX30, if it proves successful then others will adopt but the process is slow to produce a new car.
I don’t believe Mazda’s incarnation will prove much other than Nissans E-Power is a far superior set up, even though both use the same principle, using the engine as a generator only.
The spec’s are agains’t Mazda:
The MX-30 e-Skyactiv R-EV needs 9.1 seconds to perform the 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) sprint and is electronically capped at 140 km/h (87 mph) and will achieve around 29 mpg.
I can’t remember if it was honda or another manufacturer who came out with a similar idea to Nissans E-Power first, but, the E-power is unique engine wise if you look at the specs on the QQ thread.
January 14, 2023 at 10:36 pm #206153Sorry my brain stopped working. The Nissan X Trail and Mitsubishi Outlander are basically the same car sharing the platform with different engines and transmission for different markets. In theory there is nothing stopping Nissan using the 2.4 litre engine and 20kWh battery as fitted to the current Outlander PHEV sold in the Australian market.
Your right they could, however, I think this whole idea of of using the engine of a generator is prety clever stuff and maybe the next step?
Is this Outlander model available in the UK.

MaccaOur dealer is part of the Holdcroft group, albeit for Volvo, but I’ve kept a dialogue with their Nissan dealership regarding developments on the XTrail. They’ve now put this together, should be a useful watch …

MaccaIt’s the Tekna e4force Kezo.
I generally try to think optimistically. Given that Nissan’s Motability team took the decision to add the Qashqai e-power Tekna in Q1, I am hopeful the will bring the XTrail Tekna to the scheme in future quarters.
Holdcroft has a hub of dealerships in Hanley…. Volvo, Hyundai, Nissan, Mazda, and Mitsubishi
January 17, 2023 at 11:16 pm #206545Even if it was the Tecna E-power would be nice 🙂

Participant 5Hi all,
I am new in motability scheme, and wanted to order a vehicle for us.we are 6 ppl in family 2 adults and 4kids.
I need an advice please,I don’t have a car now.i am having a chance of getting 7 seater skoda kodiaq, but I like nissan xtrrail but their trim acenta premium in 7 seater is quite basic, but I like the technology. But it’s wait time is 6-7 months told by dealer.
What you suggest, should I get Skoda kodiaq which I can get in weeks time or should I go for nissan and wait for 6-7 months.
I am anxious and confused and unable to make decision. Please advice.February 1, 2023 at 11:20 am #208092Hi @Participant5
Your first Motability vehicle is always a bit of a nightmare. I suggest reading The Motability website, as there is a lot of information on there.
It looks like you are after a 7 seater and have eyes on Skoda kodiaq and Nissan x trail. You could use this. Find a vehicle on motability may turn up some other options.
Ultimately only you can make the final decision. Though I am sure other forum members will be along in due course to give you good advice.
Welcome to What Mobility Car Forums.

Don’t quote me on this, but I believe it’s an optional extra for a third row of seats on the X Trail and not available on the trims available on the scheme. @Macca will clarify this
The N Connecta is the highest trim on the scheme, but won’t come with leather seats as the Kodiaq SEL does. Although the X Trail would be more fuel effecient especially the 2wd E-Power.
If your will to look further a field for a car you could ring a few dealers and ask if they have either the Kodiaq or X Trail in stock they would allow you to have. The downside is you will have to get there to order and again to collect it.

Participant 5Hi there again,
Is there any chance of tekna or thekna+ on xtrail in 7 seater in coming quarter please!and when next quarter cars will be realised in march 2023 or in April 2023.Thanks
February 1, 2023 at 11:29 am #208096
MaccaIf you’re considering the Kodiaq SEL Executive, you’ll get a lot more spec than in the X Trail Acenta Premium.
February 1, 2023 at 11:36 am #208102You could use this. Find a vehicle on motability may turn up some other options.
Must admit joss I use Motaclarity – I find it a better layout and far more colourful ?

Highly doubtful the Tecna+ appearing, but I live in hope the Tecna does at a realistic AP 🙂

Come on joss you got to give me a reason why it can’t be mentioned for reference purposes. After all it’s search criteria superior to Motability’s site.

Thank you for the email address. I sent them an email about x-trail teka or qq tekna + joining the scheme and they responded with the following:
Thank you for contacting me at Nissan Motability,
In answer to your first question regarding the X-Trail, unfortunately we cannot supply this on the Motability Scheme due to the pricing CAP that Motability have on vehicle eligibility for the scheme, the current CAP is £42,000, with the Tekna trim we are out by £265 and therefore no matter how much I plead with Motability it is outside of their parameters.
In terms of the Tekna + I am assuming you are referring to the e-POWER derivative, this is not considered for the scheme for the current price list due to the fact we cannot make this work under the current Advance Payment CAP of £4000.00
Apologies this is probably not the information you wanted to hear.
Very Best Regards
February 1, 2023 at 2:08 pm #208135So if the cap is £42k, how on earth is the £55k ID5 on the scheme.

lol I did wonder that myself. I sent a response asking if at least the QQ tekna+ will be on the scheme in the foreseeable future, lets see what the response is!

Further comments received about QQ Tekna+:
I will certainly propose the model again, however my sign off process has to go via Europe, the model exists in Motability’s system so will definitely be considered. At present it is not even priced but hidden, I can certainly ask the questions if we can have the model available for special circumstances where the need for a Tekna + trim is required, these can be allowed in one-off circumstances, but I don’t want to promise anything right now.
Best Regards

Participant 5Hi there,
Thank you so much for you responses,Can I get nissan xtrail n connecta in 7 seater. It showing only in 5 seater on motability website. But if I pay extra £1000 for third row in nconnecta, does motability allow these requests pls.
February 1, 2023 at 2:32 pm #208147So if the cap is £42k, how on earth is the £55k ID5 on the scheme.
Leaving aside the fact that IMO price caps at any level are completely unnecessary and achieve nothing, other than to reduce choice, Motabilty apply them and ignore them entirely when it suits them. As a start though, it would be nice if everything up to and including £42k was included on the scheme!
