Lease Model Y with a £450 down payment and £450 a month for 2 years, on 8,000 miles a year.
Just received an email offering the above, a similar deal to the Model 3 deal extensively talked about on here in a long thread.
I appreciate that £450 is a lot more than £295 for the model 3 but the model Y is bigger with a hatch and might suit someone who needs space for wheelchair etc. l will put the link below but not sure it wil work it may not due to the fact it’s from my email.

Tesla have recently massively reduced prices on the Model 3 and Y in Canada and Australia with Model 3 being the equivalent of £30,000 and Y around £33,000. I think over here they are offering interest free credit instead of reducing prices, but who knows, big reductions could be on the way.
It would be nice for further reductions to impact the model Y premium 😃 The standard is still excellent for the price point and very spacious
You can get the Model Y RWD for £300, 8k miles about 4k down on a 2 year pch.
But like the Model 3, it may not be around for much longer. Its a steal
I don’t think £450 for an efficiency blob is a good deal.
The Model Y offers absolutely nothing as opposed to the Model 3. It’s not particularly more efficient than other cars (which is the one thing the Model 3 does well), it still has the awful Tesla interior/controls, etc.
Yes, you can have the car for £650 AP. That’s about it.
Like for like, an Enyaq with large battery (still better equipped despite being not a top model with the SE L) at 24 months/8k pa is £298. Yes, it has a down payment of £3500. But, math is easy.
The Tesla is gonna be £11500 over two years. The Enyaq is £10600 – almost a grand cheaper. That’s before you factor in the cheaper insurance for an Enyaq, too.
Not sure what makes the Model Y such a great deal, without being facetious. There’s so much better deals to be had.

I test drove the model Y and it is uninspiring, like driving a couch.
But it does the job. It does it very well as a family car.

I agree with posters. I don’t think the current offer of £450 a month is enough of a incentive over the current £295 model 3. My point of posting it was for people who might need a larger wheelchair and the hatch on the Model Y might be better than the saloon Model 3.
I also agree that the £450 puts it out or value range when you consider the current Motability prices, and then of course the addition of insurance etc.
Overall I’d prefer an Enyaq, Elroq, Kia EV5, over the model Y at this price. Great though very interesting. Thanks
I know Vaun, but to level the playing field what Motability vehicle will you get for an AP of £450? Certainly not an Elroq or Enyaq.
The Model Y, Its 300/month if you pay 12 months up front, £3800.
You are gonna pay that AP on any decent Motability car anyway! Especially after July prices come through the system.
You are still £20//month ahead of your allowance to help with insurance.
The one major point this shows is there are deals out there that are coming close to challenging Motability.
We have the Enyaq 85 Edition and love it, so much so we are buying one at the end of the lease, would like to buy new with the VAT reduction due to Mrs Joes adaptations, but the maths isn’t quite adding up for us at the moment so it may be a 2 or 3 year old used one. We certainly won’t be paying the £6000.00 AP for the same car we got for £950.00 just 20 months ago.
As for the reduced Tesla charging costs, we get this for a subscription of £9.99 a month, we pay this around 4-5 times a year when we go on a road trip and then cancel it until needed again. I can absolutely say from experience, without a doubt Tesla is the best charging network, if only all of them were open to none Tesla.
One minor point to keep in mind- this is a very basic trim of Model Y. They simply introduced this one instead of reducing prices to their Premium trim.
If someone considers Tesla Y, I would recommend to take for the test drive both of the trims and you should instantly feel the difference.

When I contacted an adaptations specialist it only supports a 80kg folding hoist. Even not factoring that in then something like the Q100r is 640mm tall folded, the model y is 690mm tall so thatll present challenges by itself even if you were to use ramps.
Give it a few years an you will have your own Oculus Robot to carry you in and out of a vehicle …and drive it for you…

That £450 deal is with an AP of £450…what useful SUV mobility car are you going to get with that AP?
If you pay an AP of £3800 the Model Y monthly rental is £300/month.
£3800 is about an average AP nowadays for a suitable suv ..
Also as PIP or whatever goes up with inflation, it goes to motability.

My insurance for the Chinese made Model 3 was the cheapest EV quote i had researched at £600. Others like the byd Seal was 800, but then again its 0-60 was 3.8 secs.
Ioniq 6 was £750.
EV isurance is more expensive than ICE vehicles.
But Motability will not be buying insurance at these rates.
They will be paying a fleet rate.

That sounds great but is that the cheap one that doesnt have the lightbar going across it on the front?
The clue is in the “cheap one”.
Of course it doesnt have a stupid light bar to save cost, and make it “cheap”.
But go ahead and pay a premuum for the one WITH the lightbar if you wish.

No, the defferences are subjective i drove the standard model 3 and the premium model y. Both drove the same. Same layout no difference in ride quality. The seating postion is much better for the model y and getting in and out. But the seat felt like a couch. It wasnt bad…just felt like sitting in a couch.
The biggest deal is the next one up is long range…
I think its wotrth the extra £60 month and £500 more on the AP.
