“The XC40 will be thirsty in comparison” Maybe, but much more comfortable 😆 The suspension on the XC40 is sublime (stick with 18″ wheels) but it still turns in and handles nicely.

A few years ago a number of forum contributors who had taken delivery of XC40s were complaining about poor seat comfort!

Yes it affected a small number of earlier cars with the Pro pack. For some reason, the rear of the seat base was too thin and owners could feel the seat frame. Volvo were poor at putting it right as well.

However this is 5 years ago and the problem has long since been resolved.

Our standard seats with heat and electric memory were brilliant and almost as good as those in a Saab 9000 I had in the 90s!

Interesting about the earlier XC40 seats, I think it could’ve been down to leg length, bum size and seat position.

Im 6’3” + so seat right back and low, slender bum, legs no feeling of any discomfort from the seat.

However I’m thinking shorter hight, maybe bigger bums, thighs contributed to un comfort for some.

I drove our XC40 Wales to Scotland many times, sometimes only stopping for a pee, never was the seat uncomfortable for me, this weekend the new MG hs hybrid +  is making this journey, I have high hopes as it’s a better car than the Volvo imo

Loved my 9000 turbo, also had a 9-3 TTdi with comfy leather seats. Shame Saab went down the pan and if I wanted one today, it would have to be a jet.

Just an update on MPG on my X2. Not doing to bad for local and town driving, with the odd short motorway runs.
