Previous car:Peugeot 308 GT Premium 1.2 Pure tech Petrol.November 6, 2025 at 6:05 pm #317179Well guy’s Just to update that I pick the X2 up on the 4th of November. the dealership were brilliant on the hand over presentation. I could not have asked for a better experience.
I am so please with the car, it’s just awesome. It’s big! way bigger than the Peugeot 308 GT by a long shot. So will have to get used to the size when parking etc. It’s so quite in the car that you can hear yourself think. All the bings and bongs you can turn up or down, so have set mine to just loud enough for me to hear but not intrusive.
The seats are really comfortable and the fabic is real nice, as is the entire cab furniture and fittings.
When I get a decent weather window I will take some pics for you guys. but for now…

Previous car:Peugeot 308 GT Premium 1.2 Pure tech Petrol.November 6, 2025 at 6:34 pm #317180Congratulations @joss The car looks fabulous, especially in that colour. Has the X2 had a recent facelift? The front looks a bit different to the 2024 X2 that someone I know has. I’m very envious. I’m really missing the BMW driving experience and can’t wait to get back to one.

It’s the down lights in the ceiling flaring the small chrome strip on what is otherwise a prominent black grill me thinks

Ah yes. I can see that now. I thought they’d added a load of chrome 😂
November 6, 2025 at 8:51 pm #317190Congrats Joss.
That blue looks stunning mate.
November 7, 2025 at 8:38 am #317198Congrats on the car Joss it looks great. Is there any reason why you choose the X2 over the X1 or you just liked the look of it more. The X1 and the X2 are cars that are up there with my top choices but can’t decide which car I like the most out of them thanks mate

Thanks Glos Guy. Yes it is a face lift with some cosmetic changes, mainly the from end of the car.

Yes because the X1 interior looked so much more plastic. Not as nice as the X2 IHO. But the X1 has more storage space which is not a worry for me. You need to have a good look at them both and make your call form there.

Previous car:Peugeot 308 GT Premium 1.2 Pure tech Petrol.November 7, 2025 at 10:19 am #317212@joss The interior materials in the X1 and X2 are identical. Maybe the one you looked at was a different spec? The X2 looks better externally, but the X1 has far more space so, as you say, it depends on what people are looking for.
November 7, 2025 at 10:45 am #317213It’s strange the interior being identical between the x1/2 we drive the x1, only sat in the x2 but the x2 do seem bigger and slightly more shoulder width, seems to give the effect of being a larger space..
Very quiet & peaceful place to be seated I noticed..

We had the exact opposite impression @ajn 😂 The front felt the same in both cars (which it’s is) but the rear of the X2 is significantly more cramped than the X1 due to the raked roof line. I really struggled to get into the back of the X2 and had to really crick my neck, whereas it was dead easy in the X1. The boot in the X1 is also bigger due, again, to the different roof lines.
We need space for a wheelchair and want to be able to carry adults in the rear occasionally, so the X1 would be far more practical for us but if, like @joss you don’t need to do either of these things then the X2 is the one, as it has a much nicer looking rear end 😂
Unfortunately, when we were last changing it was only the iX1 and iX2 that were available, and having had a few on extended test drives I didn’t like the EV driving experience, as it didn’t feel like a BMW to me. Had the X1 been available I think we would have gone with it.
November 7, 2025 at 11:32 am #317215November 7, 2025 at 5:06 pm #317252@kezo that’s an X2 I could live with. My neighbour has got a 235i and it sounds lovely.
November 10, 2025 at 5:42 pm #317340Yes I went in the show room and had a look at both the X1 and X2 and they was both the exact same inside same layout and materials etc. The only difference is when I sat in the back of the X2 my head was nearly hitting the ceiling were as the X1 felt more spacious for taller people. Not that I would ever be in the back tbh ha. I can’t decide on the car to go for and then I know once the car is chosen picking the colour will be another issue ha. You cant go wrong with either think it’s just what you like more on they external and if tall people are going to be in the back.
I’m thinking to go with a he Xdrive over the Sdrive also more bhp and 4wd I think. Not sure if it is necessary tho.
The X2 is a brilliant car hope your enjoying it my mate

The 25e PHEV variants are 4WD. The 20i variants are 2WD.
November 10, 2025 at 8:31 pm #317343Strange on the mobility website there is 2 option for sDrive and also a xDrive. You could be right tho I’m not sure tbh. Thanks for your reply tho I appreciate it

Unfortunately the X2 is only S drive. I would have really considered X2 had it been the plug-in variant with the X drive.

November 11, 2025 at 1:49 pm #317385Just been and test drove the X1 it was a great drive and a lot nippier than I expected for a 1.5L. I’m now torn between getting the X1 or the Volvo XC40 just waiting to have a test drive of the XC40 and hopefully there is a stand out winner 🙏 thanks

The XC40 will be thirsty in comparison.

Maybe, but much more comfortable 😆
The suspension on the XC40 is sublime (stick with 18″ wheels) but it still turns in and handles nicely.

A few years ago a number of forum contributors who had taken delivery of XC40s were complaining about poor seat comfort!
