      Hi Folks

Haven’t posted in a while as I left the scheme start of 2021. I had a Mazda CX5 Sport auto which I loved.

I came off scheme early 2020 as my health was too bad to drive. Since then we have used my wife’s car. I’ve always monitored the scheme with a view to trading in and getting a Motobility car but choice wasn’t great.

At the weekend I noticed the Mazda was back on the scheme so yesterday rang a dealer. To my amazement, he quoted delivery start of December.  Any colour and derivative.  Saw him this morning, arranged trade in for my car against deposit and cars arriving December 5th.

In conversation he told me that the car was on because , after a great year last year, Mazda UK over ordered so they have loads in stock ready for delivery.

Happy to be back in the car I really liked.

      Moss.

Good news and a great story.

Motability isn’t exempt from the universal mess so it’s even better that you found your perfect car and the dealership were helpful.

Hopefully it coincides with an improvement, or at least no deterioration in your health.

Kindest regards and best wishes for a peaceful season and New year.

Mossfinn, firstly congrats on the car 🙂

Have you tried the seats in it?, I’m due to change next year but hadn’t considered it as I tried to sit in one about 2017, seats (for me) were terrible, felt far too small and tight.  I’m 6′ 5″ though 🙂

Please excuse spelling/typos. Apart from being a clot it turns out I had one on my cerebellum that's now causing various problems!

              Hi Phaedra, thank you.

The car I returned due to ill health was a 2019 Mazda CX5 Sport and I had it for about 18 months so have had plenty of experience of the seats . I am 6’4 , about 18st and found the seats to be extremely comfortable with good lumbar support. I never considered space/size to be an issue. Prior to that, I had the Volvo XC60 R and , if anything, found the Mazda to be better.

              Hope this is of help.

                Thanks for the reply 🙂

I’ve added it to the (very short) list of cars to look at if I don’t keep my current Ateca (2WD 1.5 Petrol manual), only real problem with it is grip/handling in poor weather/rain/snow.

It has the 19″ wheels and the factory Bridgestone 235/40 tyres are useless.  Can’t risk going anywhere if it snows, even 5mm is enough to make it un-driveable.  Very poor traction in the wet, not happy at all.

Please excuse spelling/typos. Apart from being a clot it turns out I had one on my cerebellum that's now causing various problems!
