The wait is over and I finally got my hands on this beaut today. Stunning to drive and so much tech it’ll take me months to get my head around it.
Huge thanks to Aaron at Marshall’s of Oxford for sorting me out. Absolutely seamless deal and a fabulous £400 off the AP.

Current car: MG HS Exclusive in nice shiny black. 🙂

But I’m having problems with seating position I’ve got Ronnie Corbett legs and the base of the seat seems just a inch too long I’ve been getting dead leg and tight hamstring I bought a lumbar pad which just moves me slightly forward which gives me space behind my knees which is helping it maybe that it’s just the side bolsters because when I test drove i never noticed maybe they will soften slightly I’ve come from golf gtd so i realise its gonna be different. The thing with gtd sports seats which are the best seats I’ve ever had in a car is the side base bolsters end before the front of seat as to not foul the back of my leg but as for the tiguan itself lovely motor
Thank you for this post Dave. I too am vertically challenged and have many issues with joints, and worse, one leg over 3 1/2 inches shorter than the other. I’m in an X1 right now with std seats and apart from the cloth which I, no other word for it-hate, I love them. The short seat pad is cause for many to complain but I find it perfect. The cloth makes them difficult for me to get in/out and is also like Velcro. We have dogs and the seats are awful for clinging onto hairs.
Sorry, to my point of thanks, the Tiguan is top of my shortlist for next year, AP granted, but your comment has made me realise that I need to spend some time in one. My wife has a GLA with sports seats and I cannot spend more than 20 mins in it without being in crippling pain.? I will be remembered for nothing but had great fun doing it ?

Dave hYeah get an extended test drive if u can on half hour drive back home wasnt to bad but getting into hour plus drive it was uncomfortable trouble is the car your gonna test drive is gonna be used so the seats maybe broke in I’m. 5.9 long torso just short legs and small feet size 6 my condition affected the growth of them thankfully because if I had followed my dad and bro I’d of had size 10s longer legs it would of been a nightmare I’d be walking around like I had flippers on and be spending most on the time on the floor

Clipped wingsLovely car and will check it out against another Touran in the spring. Just done a 370 mile round trip to QE2 hospital in Brum and was a reminder of what a superb quiet motorway machine the out of fashion Touran still is. 1.4 tsk dsg SEL. A bargain on the scheme if you want great access, comfort and huge boot with low loading for rollator etc. Hope the issues with the 1.5 tsunami are resolved.

Clipped wingsSurprised that RHD all space is built in Mexico a la Audi Q5. Wolfsburg builds the near identical Seat Tarraco. Seat Alteca built by Skoda, Vw polo in Spain with T cross and T roc in Portugal. Friend just discovered his new Q3 built in Hungary. Nothing is as it seems these days.

PhiljbI’m a big fan of the touran too, but the Tiguan has a much nicer interior and is full of tech that actually works well.
These days I’m not bothered about sports car looks just reliability and practicality and the Tiguan has both, as for looks it looks purposeful and well built. I like ours and would have another if they brought out a new one.
