Unfortunately no. You can’t take delivery of the new car until your current lease expires. Dealers will understand this and will just keep the new car until that date.
November 10, 2025 at 4:02 pm #317338Ok
thanks for that 😔
November 10, 2025 at 11:40 pm #317352Likewise if the car is not ready by your handover date of 07/02/2026 then you keep the current car you have until it is ready but hopefully the dealer will keep you up to date on everything. If they have not said that they will, you can ask that they do keep you informed of all changes and updates.

November 11, 2025 at 2:38 am #317354you will pay the ap at point of order unless you have an agreement with the dealer
November 11, 2025 at 3:51 am #317355Morning Dobbo if the lease is on an extension you can pick the car up soon as it’s availible, as I did..
However not sure if they’ve stopped extended leases now, as the dealer explained I was one of the stragglers when seeking my new car, a month before ending a 5year lease..
Whats the new order by the way..👍

Not necessarily. Whilst it’s always best to get the dealer to agree to this approach at the time that you place the order, many dealers will be happy to adjust to a lower AP (if it happens). It’s a 5 minute admin job on the Motability system that doesn’t affect the actual vehicle order.
When we ordered our last BMW, the AP dropped just £150 the month after and the dealer amended it without me even asking! They said to me “that £150 is better in your pocket than Motability’s”! If the dealer says that they won’t do it, and the price drop is significant, I’d tell them that I’ll be cancelling the order and placing it with another dealership. Given the state of new car sales at present, I suspect that they will very quickly change their position!
November 11, 2025 at 8:32 am #317365I wonder what the record forum saving of AP is before entering the PIN number of acceptance.
With minutes to go, in fact at the end of breakfast with my Daughter, and a 15 min drive away, Big Dave saved me £1,250 with my £750 new car bonus resulting in NO AP..
Great stuff..
My advice I’d come here before pick up, check out Big Dave’s info, could save some money..

November 11, 2025 at 10:33 am #317373Hi Dobbo
After 4 VW cars from MB I’m switching away to the Kuga FHEW ST-Line X myself as its a fully feature car with a reasonably AP so hope to order one at the end of this month, my lease finish 3 weeks after yours. VW have just become too expensive for what you get.
On the AP’s, I’ve never paid it before collection but before entering the PIN on the day, although I did pay upfront for an extra I added to my current car that I thought was fair enough.
