hi Wonky
i had the Hyundai Kona and loved it. So my current car is a 2023 Ionic 5 ultimate rwd long range. I absolutely love it. it has never given me any trouble whatsoever. I’m lucky enough to have a home charger which makes it easy to charge. Dead of Winter with careful driving 220-230 miles in summer 280-290 ( real world, not indicated) but really it doesn’t matter most of the time for me I tend to do local stuff. For example – Three of four times a year I drive down to Sussex from North Yorkshire (total of320miles) I tend to stop once at Peterborough for 20-30 minutes in that time on fast chargers I can get 150-180 miles of range added. Which gets me to Sussex with spare.
Hope this helps all the cars you’re looking at are, let’s face it amazing vehicles, if you think of the days of diesel Vauxhall Insignias and Ford Mondeos, or further back my Dads first motability car was an orange Vauxhall chevette, things have certainly moved on ( whether for the better is a matter of opinion)
it is a surprisingly big car though wide and long loads of room in the back and the boot easily holds a manual wheelchair and my dads folded electric wheelchair. Loads of storage
I have not driven or been in the other two cars. But bearing in mind the id4 and Enyaq sit on the same platform, it seems most reviewers prefer the Enyaq. ( bigger boot etc).
Cheers Vaun
Cheers, all the very best

February 9, 2025 at 10:33 pm #297425Personally I’d forget about the ID4, same car as the Enyaq but poor quality interior in comparison. Cheap hard plastics etc. I sat in both and the Enyaq was so much better.
Or of course there’s the new Elroq, not a lot of differnce in size but again same car underneath and the 85 Edition has a £300 cheaper AP, compared to the Enyaq in the same trim level.
Please excuse spelling/typos. Apart from being a clot it turns out I had one on my cerebellum that's now causing various problems!

I'll try to give my honest opinion but am always open to learning.Mark

AnonymousI can only give my opinion and experience but I would go for a Hyundai. I had an Enyaq and had lots of problems with it. Reading the forums other people have had the same problems but I know people have had no problems.
however I’ve been driving a Hyundai Kona electric for a few weeks now and it has behaved perfectly. No error messages, no battery protection limit notifications, car charges when it should and there’s no 80% battery protection either. It also doesn’t get you to confirm you are the driver every time you get in!
It just seems that Hyundai have got their software right. It just does what it says. It not overly complicated. They appear to listen to customers. You can mute the speed limit warnings by holding the mute button on the steering wheel. It’s early days but so far so good.February 10, 2025 at 10:03 am #297433If I could fit in and afford the Ioniq 5, I would have had that.
But the Enyaq is a solid car. It does what it says on the tin and is easy to drive long distances. The app and software is much improved and the smart assistant can use ChatGPT. That also pretty much works very well. Needless to say it pulls like a mule when you spank it, the fastest Motability car I’ve ever had. Personally, and it is personal, I love the Travel Assist. It makes journeys so much more pleasurable. The headlights are great if you do a lot of night time driving. All in all, a very capable car but then, that’s why so many of us have leased it! I would grab a bargain before the next quarter if I were you.

If you were to place an order for the Sportline Plus now, do you think it would be upgraded to the Facelift version?
February 10, 2025 at 11:19 am #297436I asked my local skoda dealer the same question and he said march would be the earliest to order the facelift model of the enyaq, other dealers may have a different time frame ?

Sorry pal, I don’t have the answer to that.

February 11, 2025 at 7:14 pm #297512The official line at the moment on the Enyaq is that if your order gets bumped to a facelift then you will have to pay the new as of yet unreleased new AP for the 85X. Your dealer might be lucky and be able to get Skoda UK to source a pre facelifted model.
Our backup if everything goes wrong is to get the Ioniq 5, the N Line especially has a great trim level at a decent AP.
Cheers
