I’ve been looking to change & had my shortlist of cars & decided which make and model – have had several email exchanges with the Motability rep.

tgey tell me that there is none of the model / trim / coluiur I want and the stock of the model / trim in various colours  I want all have ‘packs’ added to them – therefore I’d I wanted one it’s mean that is pay the AP abs ‘pack’ cost.

I got a mate to email the same dealership as a non motability customer – their salesman emailed back and stated 3 different colours but with the standard trim  – no options / packs etc…. added.

also I emailed other dealers of that car brand, with in the large dealership group network, and several have the model / trim and colour available with no options / packs etc.. added

now I’ve no faith nor trust in the ‘Motsbility accredited  sales “specialist”’ & fail they tread Motsbility & non Motability customers differently.

      frustrated and not happy

I would ring the motability specialist and tell them exactly what you have done and ask why.

That’s disappointing, but why not order from another dealership if they have a car that you want in stock? It’s not that common for dealerships to order in cars speculatively these days as a lot of customers want to add options to spec their ideal car, as well as choosing their own colour and trim preferences, so most are factory orders so that dealers don’t get left with stock. Those that they do hold could be pre-registered to hit their sales targets and Motability won’t allow customers to get those – unfortunately. All these factors tend to explain why we all end up waiting months for our cars! Out of interest, what car is it?

That is discrimination and you could and should take it further to find out what has gone on and if proven take legal action check your home insurance to see if you have legal protection

It could be classed as fraud

The question I had put to the dealer was the exact same question my friend posed to the same dealership – x model in y trim – preferred colour but flexible – what have you in group stock (30 plus dealerships in east Anglia etc..) that are new 2021 model unregistered, delivery mileage & no extras / packages / options etc… just the standard spec of the model / trim.
