in a seperate statement from motability.

        Reopening the Scheme
1st June – dealers in England are able to hand over vehicles for applications already in ‘Insurance’ as at 24th March in OLA.

4th June – dealers in England are able to view the ‘Vehicle Catalogue’ and start an application for a renewing customer. The Motability Scheme website has also been updated to display the Searchable Price Guide and advise customers either approaching the end of their lease, or who have had their leases extended during lockdown, that they will be able to place a renewal application from 8th June.

Tuesday 9th June – dealers in England and Northern Ireland will be able to progress applications from ‘Pending’ to ‘Insurance’. Please contact the customer to arrange a time for handover and update the Confirmed Delivery Date

Due to parliamentary guidelines we are currently unable to support dealers located in Scotland and Wales with new applications or the handover of a new car.

Unfortunately at this stage we are still unable to accept applications from new customers wishing to join the Scheme as we work through our backlog of existing customer orders.

          Thank you for posting JS.

Any step towards what will be a new normality is a good step.

Guees this is why i’ve had no call from my dealer this week to arrange collection yet, nothing at all.. I was thinking it was the dealer messing me about.. As they just too busy..

Last time i spoke to the dealer (it was the actual manager) was a week last friday.. As i’m getting my private plate on this car that’s been on retention. He didn’t seem to know much either as to when..he sent me a vid, The cars been there since well before lockdown early feb so 4 months orderd on 15th of jan and it will need a full valet as well as it’s been outside all this time. I was due to exchange on the 15th of april so now it all becomes clear, why.

It’s again mbo’s lack of info to it’s customers, 5000 cars already at dealers from the 1s,t will be first priorty t WaS A lie then, now it seems. mein won’t be avalible till at earlist the 9th,  I won’t get the car till after other’s can order new ones.. on the 8th… Taking the $$$$ imo. Why not say this from the start.. Then we’d know where we stand and yes i have issues, these problems add to my stress levels of not knowing a date..

so it can be planned for..

Infact this next car don’t feel like a new car anymore and it’s becoming a chore..

The problem I also have because of not knowing, when i will exchange is so i can plan and right now i cannot put more fuel than i need for anyday in the car or any make any large journey without calculating the amount needed, as i could get a call anyday saying tommorrow, who knows deffo not me??? and i cannot live like this day to day worring do i have enough fuel or that i’ll be giving away money from my pocket in fuel if i put to much in..

There is thousands upon thousands of new cars that have been ordered for lease company’s, Motability included. Some of these cars came in just before the lockdown and could not be handed over. The garages are unbelievably busy not just with what they had to go out but with new orders from customers including lease company’s. It will be like this for quite a long time.

@Belfast4, I feel it for you.

In an attempt to hopefully ease your stress a little, don’t forget that if your dealer rang today and said “it’s ready”, you don’t have to drop everything to pick it up.
If you have fuel in the tank and want to use it up, say to the dealer you’ll be available on a day that suits you and book the handover in for that date.

You really haven’t got to give the dealer a reason. Please remember that you are the customer, not the other way around.

I truly hope this works out for you. With the pain and issues we all suffer, handover should be an exciting prospect and an enjoyable experience. You’ve done the stressful part, choosing and placing an order.
                    Best wishes.

Thx It appears it was not the dealers fault, it was MB as it was listed on the system as pending not as Insurance, so the dealer was unable to add anything to the system for collection, Until the 9th of june.

Even the dealer didn’t know what was going on and had to call Mb, Only the management team are working at the dealers right now. So been dealing with the same manager. The Mb guy is on furlough, they are the same group as my current VW golf but is a Honda civic sport I’m getting..

So the update is my collection date is now monday 15th of june arranged that on the 8th..

Earlier today the manager called me and because of the cyber attack there’s a problem, so he’s gonna call me at 9pm on monday to see if we still on or not or will it be another day?? sods law, always something goes wrong???

He did say it’s been filled up with fuel as well and is getting a final valet as we speak..

                        I hope it’s still monday.

                        Appreciate the feedback and help
