July 24, 2020 at 3:01 am #120159thanks @joss for the screen print. (i assume my link worked ?)
@elliot My flippant comment that answers many a question about dash cams was meant in humor, No it doesnt say Hardwired but if that is an option at point of order with the manufacture, then that can be taken up with with Motability on an individual bases, the fact they have put it in their Magazine and black and white so to speak for sure must be a step forward, its a good thing please not lets turn it into a negative@ eveyyone else i hope you find some positives from the Magazine not everyone gets its though the post.
July 24, 2020 at 7:32 am #120160OH no I’ve been a naughty boy and have been breaking Motability rules.??
What have I done I hear you say, well unknown to me my dash-cam is fixed to the windscreen with self adhesive pads and is apparently against the rules but over the years I’ve found the suction cup method to be unreliable and even dangerous with them falling off the windscreen suddenly and in turn causing a distraction.
While suckers are okay for a year or so they become harden in the baking Summer Sun then become unreliable to staying on the screen.
My self adhesive tabs have never failed and last the whole 3 years of the lease and while a pain to remove and clean the windscreen at the end of lease no one is the wiser that a dash-cam has been on the screen at hand-back.
I don’t hardwire my cams though so Brownie points there in my defence.?

like the volvo on page 23 it states the R design from £899 im sure thats a couple of hundred cheaper than at present
July 24, 2020 at 4:33 pm #120209A bit disappointed with the article about “steering ball adaptions” as at first “I thought great a side by side comparisons about remote control steering balls” and have always wanted to hear about other manufactures remote control steering balls other than the main runner Lodgesons.
Turns out it just tells us that steering balls can help you drive.
Why can’t we have reviews on adaptions along with car reviews.

Poor humour though and by the way I do find positives in the magazine. I would imagine most do.
My comment wasn’t a negative, it was pointing out that you can have a dash cam but you must plug it in rather than hardwire it.
Surely though Motability could have something agreed with the likes of Halfords for this as they are a lot cheaper than a main dealer installing one. The last time I was in my local BMW dealership they had one on display which was almost twice the price of similar models in Halfords.
July 26, 2020 at 1:58 am #120335@elliot i believe you’ve miss read my comment , and im sorry if any offence was taken as it wasnt meant as personal but simple a nod to the confusion over Dash Cams by many people as Motability have never made it clear. for them to put it in black and white is a step in the right direction.
