I am amazed at how many people think that Motability Operations is a charity. And I am equally amazed that people do not know that there is Motability Foundation, which is a charity. There may be a link between the two, of course, but they are separate entities.

I was at a Christmas dinner over the weekend, and people looked at me as if I had two heads. Some folk seem to think that there is only Motability!

Did you texplain to them, that Motability Operations is owned by Barclays, Lloyds, NatWest and HSBC, reported nearly £7 billion in revenue last year, but it has never been clear how much the four banks make from their long-standing ownership of the company?

It wouldn’t be so bad but some had Motability Cars and one even applied for a grant. I think having very similar names is a mistake these days, good intentions, bad outcome.
