Does the dealer notify me or do I have to be pro-active and make the arrangments?

The last time it was motability that suggested getting an mot.

But give motability a call to make sure.  You should be able to use kwik fit for an mot.

Our local kwik fit has a macdees close by, and i just drop it off and go an have dinner.

But still check with motability first.

Ice cars usually get it done at service time. Better doing both in One trip.

My experience has been that Motability reminds me 6-8 weeks before the MoT is due.

          Then it’s up to me.

As you know, at the end of a 3 year lease an MoT is needed before the car is exchanged.

          Happy to be corrected.

That’s correct but worth mentioning that returning the car without an MOT forfeits the GCB.

Ice cars don’t get it done along with service as motability don’t do a third service only the mot unless you have an extension.

In my experience it’s been motability then I get badgered by the dealer if I don’t get it done.

Who is paying for MOT? Asking as with the last two vehicles on the scheme (Mazda and Skoda) the dealers were trying to force me to pay £120 only for warranty related concerns I have raised. I wonder what they will want for the MOT.

Motability, it’s their car not yours.  You’re not responsible for servicing, MOT or anything else.

Please excuse spelling/typos. Apart from being a clot it turns out I had one on my cerebellum that's now causing various problems!

Just had third service and MOT on our Audi with six weeks left to run!

Was that 6 weeks left to run of your 3 years as I am on my 8th motability vehicle and have never had a 3rd service done.

Motability usually send word early about needing an MOT, so they can get anything fixed that comes under the warranty.

They also check out the condition of the car and if you are not extending the lease, they may advertise it and have a buyer before the lease is even up. I know that happened to me, with a previous car. It was sold to a dealer down south, before I had returned the car, after a two year extension.

Yes three years, Audi A3, interestingly the third service was done 11 months after second due to ‘Service Due’ light. Although I am keeping it beyond three years now because replacement car is on order and wont be here until after the end of the Audi lease in a weeks time (VW due August).

As they have extended your lease they would do a third service.

it does not really matter but the service was done a few weeks ago before I signed up or ordered a new car (i was holding off because unsure about staying on the scheme). So 3rd service done at 2 years 10 months and a bit and I finally decided to stay on scheme at 2 years 11 months and a bit. Like i say it does not really matter but the third service was done before MB knew I would be keeping it due to waiting for replacement 👍
