Afternoon folks..
Ok here we go,
So Mini UK are having a Huge Sale from 3rd Sep to 7th September, with reductions on all orders for new cars between those dates.
The promotion states that this sale can be used in conjunction with any other local sales , deals etcThe relevance to me is that I currently have a Mini F56 JCW and on the above sale Mini is offering £1500 off all new JCW orders between those dates
Also as an existing Mini customer an extra £400 off any new order placed before the end of September
£1900 saving is a massive amount, especially these days
Ive now got a new email from Mini saying again that as an Existing Customer I can order 1 day before the sale starts to avoid the queues

So I contact MB with this information and seek confirmation that it will apply to my order after all it meets the criteria being from Mini UK and nationwide
They say.. That’s great we are happy to hear of our members saving money ( yeah could’ve fooled me 🤣 )
But they can’t confirm the AP reduction as it’s coming from Mini UK, they suggest I speak to them
i contact Mini UK and they pretty much repeat the words from MB and to contact any branch for clarification
And that leads to now…
I’ve contacted a couple of dealers who cannot confirm the reductions will be applied to my order.. They can’t say it won’t but they can’t say it will 🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️
Im wondering if any other members are pulling what’s left of their hair out on this not so merry go round seeking clarification
im not one of these that’s discrimination at the slightest thing type group
But in my eyes if there is £1900 pound saving from my potential order then it should be in my pocket 🤷🏻♂️
I know Dealers tend to overlook us when possible but if the answer came back as a No then that would just not sit right with my moral compass and I’ll go to some Chinese EV that I’ve never heard of 😭

Ok I’ve just had a definitive response from Arnold Clark ( my local dealer – unfortunately ) grim reading as expected – if I ordered the car ( which I won’t ) where is that saving going??

Make melonade!I’m not surprised at the response. It has always been the case (with all manufacturers, not just Mini) that, unless stated otherwise, when you see promotional discounts advertised, they apply to retail customers only.
Any offers / AP discounts / cashbacks specifically for Motability customers are always advertised separately and appear on the thread kindly managed by @BigDave. In the absence of those, the AP is the AP and any deals struck by Motability are factored in to them.

Not really. As Glos Guy explained above, whenever these offers occur, it always states Retail Customers Only in the small print.
In regards to the extra £400 off for existing Mini customers, I’m afraid you’re not the Mini customer, Motability are!

I had one this morning from the local BMW dealer where we got our i4 offering me a special appointment to discuss a great deal on a replacement for the i4 🤦😆

Make melonade!Looking on the bright side @Winston at least the Mini JCW remains on the scheme, as fun cars generally aren’t allowed these days! That being said, is it a ‘proper’ JCW, or an EV version (ducks for cover 🤣)?
It is frustrating that Motability do not publish any information on savings which they do manage to negotiate.
So it is hard to tell if they are negotiating keen prices or just paying RRP.

Yeah it’s still there and it’s the last fully petrol one they’ll make, but my stubbornness and moral compass are set in stone 💪🏻 ( for now ) 🫣🤭
Tomorrow I’m going to look at cars that I’ve never ever heard of 😵💫🤣

You can be sure that Motability never pay rrp. As the biggest lease operator in the U.K. they probably get a range of discounts between 20-35%, on top of the 20% VAT exemption.
All discounts are factored into the AP, so publishing the discounts that they achieve would be meaningless and would just irritate people who would question why the APs are so high!

Yeah it’s still there and it’s the last fully petrol one they’ll make, but my stubbornness and moral compass are set in stone ( for now ) Tomorrow I’m going to look at cars that I’ve never ever heard of what could possibly go wrong keep your 👀 wide open as behind every moral ground lies a dirty secret😉
