      Hi all,

I’ve had an extended test drive of the mini countryman today and have to say I was really impressed.  Very comfortable, lovely to drive and so quiet!  My only concern is the fuel economy.  I know I am coming from a Yaris hybrid which easily does 60MPG around town the mini just scraped 40.

Has anyone on here got one and how have they found it long term?  What’s the economy like?

i had one for a full  3 years before the juke, brilliant car but as you say mpg only around 40-45 mpg.

in these days of hybrids its its only drawback, if the ap was better i would have one again in a heartbeat even at 40mpg.

i was lucky stratstone were giving £500 off the ap which was around 750 on wpms at the time so a bargain.

Yeah I tried to bargain on the AP but they were having none of it, some total bull about now you as the customer are effectively ordering direct from Mini not from the dealer so there’s no room for negotiation….

i had 2 minis from stratstone chesterfield andd both times they offered £500 off. i was lucky i guess and the ap’s werent up where they are today. first one was the mini 3dr 7 a special edition they did. then the countryman. both excellant very comfy fantatstic performance and not a problem with either of them. as you say the only drawback is the mpg 45 at best. with todays selfcharging hybrids you can get up to 60.
