There is a bit of a trade war ongoing between the EU and China, it may take a while to resolve itself.

The EU are going to add a 45% tariff on Chinese EV,s.

Hopefully there will be a resolution

I believe the UK have said, they won’t be following EU’s lead on applying tariffs however, I do wonder, one a manufacturer has met or is close to meeting their ZEV mandate, will they increase price’s on the scheme, as they no longer need to give them away or completely remove them.

I thought so too, until i learned that the “credit” for EVs sold is tradeable.

There’s no reason to stop selling EVs, since they can make a lot of money by selling “EV credit” to manufacturers who haven’t met their targets yet. Indeed, it’s almost 10 grand per car sold.

That said, i’m somewhat sure that the MG4 will return eventually, like most “volume models”.
