I ordered my MG HS from Arnold Clark today in Glasgow to be told the waiting list is 6months and only available in black, pearl white and solid white
Choices are getting bad.

I ordered my mg hs executive auto in red on the 6th of january 2022 I was told it would be ready in May 2022 then this was pushed back to August 2022 I rang the dealership I order the car from and they said my order was only accepted arround 3 weeks ago. Is the order being accepted different to the build date does anyone no.

Interesting news. I’m due to change cars in December and am seriously considering an HS.

Not wanting to put a spanner in the works @Dante but those are retail lead times and would they be applicable to lease cmpanies specifically mb.
I’m not sure in my mind retail / lease allocation should be equitable albeit very aware life and motability dealers move in mysterious ways.
my MG HS exclusive auto is the most comfy SUV I’ve ever had in the scheme imho but I’ve had issues – many thankfully don’t – but for the only mid / large SUC auto in the scheme u see £1500 AP it’s probably the best value all round tbh – because it’s so heavy and the engine it is a thirsty suv
but I’d still recommend it to others
Got a call from my dealer yesterday my car arrived and I have to pick it up on Wednesday… was ordered may 18th this year.. dealer also told me that MG are now giving you a 12 week waiting list for all new HS’S if it’s a new order
Ordered excite manual in black ,February 3rd 2022 now august 22nd still no news but I don’t want a 22 reg which will last a week, so I’m hoping for a September phone call fingers crossed
That’s just what I don’t want , having a 22 reg car for a week before 72 reg comes out , ordered mine feb 3 and no news as yet
Test drove one today and dealer assured me that 12 weeks was correct. He even showed me the official letter to dealers.

Today I was offered a brand new MG HS with only delivery mileage as a hire vehicle via Europcar / Motability
Ordered a HS Exclusive DCT for the wife on 3rd March, we were told the lead time was the end of April. Within a month this changed to early July, then October/November. By the end of May we’d been told there was no build date and the worst case scenario would be Spring 2023. Upto now this hasn’t changed and the last contact we had was about three weeks ago, although they’re now saying it could be the end of the year (I’m sceptical).
The order was placed through a leasing company and I’m a bit concerned that any orders through third party companies will be on the back burner as MG will want to supply their own dealerships first. I myself have been waiting on a Ford (also via lease) since March and this has now been pushed back to January/February, yet main dealers are quoting December for new orders on the same car.
I can’t fault the lease company whatsoever, they’ve been in regular contact with us each month to let us know what’s going on. Just want to know when it’s going to happen as at the moment there’s no scheduled build date and it could likely go past 12 months from the date of order.
I was gutted to find out that the panoramic roof had been removed from the Exclusive trim. I asked MG UK if it was temporary or not.
Also I noticed that the Asian markets have an all new HS model and wondered if it was coming to us.
I asked and this was their response which also contradicts the information @Dante was told on delivery times.

With regards to your query, we cannot confirm if the Panoramic Sky Roof feature will return. In this instance, it has been removed, and MG Motor has added the Rear Privacy Glass feature (Exclusive only).
I have attached an MG HS brochure for you to view.
Unfortunately, we cannot confirm an exact timeframe for when the new version will be in the UK, however, the current lead time for new orders is 7 to 8 months (this is subject to change).

Just ordered an MG HS Exclusive DCT from RRG. Official delivery is end of January but he was confident we’d have it before Christmas.
Another bonus was that the tri-coat red paint is only £150 extra on MB rather than £500 for retail customers.

I thought all paint colours were free on MB. Is the black an extra too?

The missus didn’t take it well about the potential exclusion of the panoramic sunroof. I’ve been instructed to contact the lease company and find out for certain. They generally email me at the beginning of each month so I’ll bring it up then.
Have they stopped producing the HS Exclusive with the sunroof with immediate effect or is it from a certain date? As far as I’m aware we haven’t even got a build slot yet so it looks slim for us. Hoping by some miracle that production of our car has begun since the last time they contacted me.
It’s quite a substantial feature to just get rid of – if it is the case that we won’t be getting one, I’ll be expecting a reduction in the price of the car. Tinted windows don’t exactly add up to the cost of a panoramic sunroof now do they?! Has anybody challenged them about this yet and if so did you get anywhere?

@DougieB Just the red is extra because it’s tri-coat. The pearlescent black & white are free.
@Paul The response I got from MGAs for the 1st of July 2022, the Panoramic Sky Roof feature is being removed.
The dealer said that they won’t be reducing the price as they feel the car still represents excellent value without the sunroof.

Because then I’d have to start all over again and I’d just be back at square one, to the back of the queue. Plus I’ve already paid the leasing company their admin fee which I’d likely lose out on if I cancelled the order.
I understand that everyone is in the same position with waiting times, it’s just frustrating that some dealers are getting the stock faster than others.

Because I was looking for answers on how long people had been waiting.
paul i recently found out that the sky roof is no longer fitted i was ready to cancel but i was promised that because i ordered in march i was ok i was ready to order the ford kuga which has the same spec as the mg but a 6month waiting period if you are motability
