MG HS

Has anyone ordered a MG HS recently? We’ve been told by one dealership that demand is so high that if we order now it might not arrive until next year but another dealership said there’s no issue and that they usually have them in stock, they’d just sold 15 from stock! Wondering what delivery times people have been quoted.

We intend to order the auto in excite spec. Not sure on colour, despite how popular they are I am yet to see any colour that isn’t blue.

Also has anyone managed an AP discount? Every dealership I try says they cannot, no full tank of fuel either. £10 fuel at the most. AP on the auto excite is only £199 so not the end of the world but we’ve managed discounts in the past.

For anyone that needs to know, a standard adult folding wheelchair with folding handles does fit in the boot. The rear seats are recliners and I had to move them upright a small amount.

I ordered mine from same dealer on 24th Jan. ?

This is our first motability application for a vehicle so in dire need of the car with the hoist.

Do you think its worth ringing around in case someone has stock or a cancelled order?

Yes always worth a try to contact other MG Dealers, as mentioned by others on here previously, see if they have any cars available, place in Leeds called Luscombe MG they might be able to help you out, they do Motability Cars might be able to help ? luckily for me already have my first car to use until other is available for pickup so not a problem waiting, other Motability users have suggested getting second hand cars as well, but probably depends on needs and requirements for the individual person, that might not suit everyone’s current situation.

              Thanks for the advice.

I did end up ringing around, Wakefield MG had a black hs in stock. I was willing to sacrifice my original choice of  colour (pearl white).  It did have the red/black interior tho ?.  But i was politely told its only available for private sales/finance.

Furthermore, he also added that as the hs petrol is no longer on the scheme, if i decided to cancel my order, i wouldnt be able to order a new one elsewhere.

Wouldn’t of minded the wait if i had an existing car which met requirements.  Even August/Sept feels unlikely now….. ☹️

Your Welcome ? ,  all car manufacturers are suffering lack of new stock, guess they only want to sell to private buyers before Motability customers, and yes the dealer is correct, they have removed the MG HS from the list and so if you cancel means joining long que further down list for a new vehicle from any manufacturer who ever that may be, just hope maybe there’s a customer cancellation or MG delivery they weren’t expecting, to get it any earlier, keeping fingers crossed that’s really all everyone can do seems to me at this moment in time. Anyways wish you luck sorting out your situation, but unless your sure don’t cancel your order. ☹️

Keep you updated on here if anything changes, bye for now.

I mentioned a few pages back that I’d given up waiting and was looking at other manufacturers, I ended up sticking with MG as all the others were quoting at least 3 months as well.

Called dealer last week and was told June/July again after originally ordering in August last year.  Got a call yesterday morning to say its ready to collect on Friday, safe to say dealers really have no idea when cars are turning up.  Will let you know how it goes once I’ve got it.

Hi everyone had yet another call from dealer pushing back delivery again this time  August 2022 ordered July 2021 every excuse under the sun from stopping making  blue car as changing colour to another shade of blue then can’t get blue paint definitely delivery before xmas 2021 one week before Christmas  told no longer making blue cars  change colour or cancel changed to pearl white told March then  April then definitely July now August i ve been waiting so long now not willing to give in, its now covid which know is very serious but it just seems they have a a book of why your order not being able to have car delivered excuses and  are now running out of excuses been told  factory now in lockdown

This is my first MG and my last bloody awful communication and terrible customer service perhaps theres no words in Chinese for customer care or service

Yes in China they have been having lockdowns  in certain cities, seen this on news, over there they are not mass vaccinations of the public, just having lockdowns when and where required to stop the spread of the virus, So this will have an impact on deliveries of new vehicles from China along with all other goods made there. ☹️

So what is this email telling me ?, I know there’s delays, dose it mean chance of getting vehicle earlier that delivery date or dose it mean could take longer, they seem unsure, from what it says (TBA)

Just like they did at the start of these delays, MG Motor UK are putting contingency plans in place to help ease the pressure which they are hoping will speed up deliveries to customers. These plans include but are not limited to cancelling all stock orders across the UK in order to allocate these cars to customers awaiting delivery. However, this plan is at its early stages and therefore MG Motor UK have moved every estimated delivery date to “TBA”.

We are starting to see some positive results with some deliveries being moved forward but please keep in mind that it may be some time before we get a clearer update.

Whilst we appreciate its incredibly frustrating to hear that your new car has been delayed, we hope that you will understand the difficult situation we find ourselves in. We would like to thank you for your continued patience in advance.

                          Hi everyone

Sorry no good news apart from there are 9 ships due in at Bristol over the next 2 months some are the big ones able to carry  4000+ so fingers crossed someone gets their car. Its now less than a month to go and it will be my orders 1st birthday ordered 12th July 2021 , anyone been waiting longer?

After worrying about delivery delays my MG HS Excite arrived only 3 weeks later than approx agreed date (albeit 5 months wait ) but no longer I suppose for most other car makes.

After 2 months I’m genuinely pleased with my car with just 1 issue that I just feel I want to share .

Why no WINDOW TINTS in any HS model & in this unexpected hot weather a bit of a disappointment ?.

I know this may seem a minor point as you can get them fitted aftermarket but believe me it’s a problem when you’ve been used to tints for years !!!.

Just give this a thought before ordering …
