TrevWinston has been quiet of late.
Think it’s nature of the topic though, that people will join us when looking for their next vehicle, and once done and dusted their interest may subside until they start looking again. Some of us the interest doesn’t subside and auto news becomes more of a hobby along with the pleasurable forum banter of course!
I enjoy the interaction with the New guys n gals just as much as the old.
LB must have had his grant decision by now, hope he’s been able to order the Karoq he wanted. He promised we would be Karoq buddies! Though sayimg that, I learnt today my build week of 34 remains unconfirmed, so there will be a delay, just don’t know how long.

MikeWas it Dave who had a Seat Leon FR and was getting it re chipped to go faster ?
August 14, 2018 at 5:21 pm #58520I think that maybe half of those who post just post to see if anyone have information on a particular problem they may have and then there are those like me who originally got drawn here by information going around about discounts on AP’s and was looking for a new Motability car.
I’ve passed all that now and could just retire and become a read only member but if I see something that I can add to I will jump in.
Interesting to see a few names here I’ve seen before over on “.youreable.com” site and the motoring section on that site has become quieter since this site was mentioned over there, in fact, I think it’s where I became aware of this wonderful site.
August 15, 2018 at 10:38 am #58568Interesting to read that Chris, and thanks for the compliment. I’ve only browsed the yourable site once or twice but never found it that informative, maybe because they cover a wider spectrum of topics, i don’t know.
I think that’s where this site wins, we all have a mutual interest in cars, there is no protocol that you must register details in order to see posts, we are very open with our advice and opinions. And it’s great to see people like yourself and others that are happy to share your knowledge in helping others.

September 23, 2018 at 2:59 am #61294Timerfirst here,re registered after a long while out of circulation, busy putting 6600 miles on my seat Leon 1.6 TDI dynamic technology with dsg gearbox. What can I say,it’s a delight to drive, and I’ve racked the mileage up quickly since June the first,I’ll probably exceed my mileage allowance!!
September 23, 2018 at 4:06 am #61295Welcome back Timerfirst. Glad to hear from you, I’m sure a lot of people would be interested in hearing your views on your Leon, (I can’t remember offhand if you have contributed) but we have a members car thread:
https://forum.whichmobilitycar.co.uk/forums/reply/61298/
Or feel free to start a new thread with your views and thoughts on your Leon (glad to here your getting the most out of it). The Leon was a hot topic a few months back and because of delays I’m sure your input would be much appreciated by those that are waiting, plus those that are thinking of ordering.
Note to all:
A lot of people just look in on the Forum and maybe feel they have nothing to add but as a group the more informed we are the less vulnerable and more knowledgeable we become. We All Have A Voice.
P.S
thank you to All that contribute, it’s You that make this Forum such a safe and pleasurable place to be.
September 23, 2018 at 7:47 am #61296Your re-registration fee is due by the end of the month.

Tony DAs has been mentioned above, some posters, myself included, visited this site primarily for information when looking for the next (or first) Motability car. Some continue – many don’t.
It became very clear that personal experiences with dealers, and their offers, varied regionally; and could not always be replicated, but it was good to hear their stories – both positive and negative.
My experience searching for a Renault Koleos got nowhere, as four dealers approached (a) either, could not supply the required vehicle, (b) would not offer me a matching discount as offered to another member, or (c) just would not get back to me.
The latter was also true of two Skoda dealers regarding a Kodiaq; including the supplier of my then Yeti PCH car. Also, no response from a local Mazda dealer for a CX-5 or for a Nissan X-Trail.
Whether this is generally the case, or just Worcestershire dealers, I wouldn’t know; but I gave up with the Motability route.
As from June 1st I have been enjoying motoring in a 10-year old, and fully paid for, Lexus RX350 SE-L auto. Heavy on the fuel, with its 3.5 litre, 272 BHP engine; but more than happy with the refined luxury.
I look in here now-and-again, but as stated, there are quite a few ‘new faces’ on the forum of late.
Wishing everyone well,
Tony.October 29, 2018 at 3:51 am #63877Nice to hear your input Tony, and I’m sure others would be interested to the benefits of buying private, it’s a great subject/topic as to the purchase or PCP route.
October 29, 2018 at 9:38 am #63882Hey Tony, I would be very interested to see photos of you motor if you would like to post them on the ‘Members Car‘ thread.
Sounds very luxurious, always like the look of the Lexus – though apologies for deviating here as whenever i hear the word Lexus it always reminds me of this clip which makes me smile every time –

November 5, 2018 at 2:26 pm #64402<p style=”text-align: left;”>I have not posted for a bit but was intending to put a long post on the Brexit thread only to discover it has been closed. Having read the recent posts I cannot agree it has become libellous and toxic, but it simply contained views at variance with some posters who did not like the direction of travel the conversation and opinions were headed. Regrettably the forum has lost several posters and I must now add my name to the list as this shall be my final post.</p>
November 5, 2018 at 4:05 pm #64408Thank you for your input, and others that have an opinion, unfortunately the thread had run its course and was simply going around in circles, no individuals are to blame or should feel put out. we wish everyone a safe and stress free experience whilst searching and surfing the net, we are here should anyone or everyone wish to return and thank All for previous input.
Take care
JS
November 5, 2018 at 4:45 pm #64410why don’t you open a new thread with your long article.
November 5, 2018 at 5:40 pm #64415Brexit is poised to reach an explosive and contentious climax in the near future. The discussions on here have been interesting and educational and I would like to personally thank posters for the way we have stayed friends despite often having diametrically opposed views.
We’ve closed the Brexit thread before friendships made on here are broken by the increasingly passionate expression of opinions that have been stated by us all many times. There are a number of Brexit forums where you can all continue to state your views and opinions a lot more forcefully than we feel is advisable on a disability led forum. We have over 1000 forum visitors a day now, and we believe that the friendly stress free environment which we have created is responsible for the forum’s growing popularity. We hope this will encourage more browsers to become posters in order to enhance the forum experience.
I hope you will stay with us, as we value the quality of your input, and the spirit in which it is submitted.
We’re here if you need us.
Cheers.
