If Motability did nothing the changes would see £1100 added to the cost of leasing a vehicle. According to the email they sent out.

But he has a plan apparently.

To be honest, they are doing their best in a volatile situation.

The changes to VAT causes a lot of problems, especially with the Scottish SS system, they have to align their systems legally to serve the UK  Equally.

But yes the changes adding as much as £1100 per lease, I did not expect that.

Affordability, it is over for the scheme.

Most of the people on the scheme are struggling financially as it is. There are other options, and can see a lot of people going their own way.

I will be one of those leaving the scheme and doing so before VAT becomes applicable on early terminations.

I’d take having to pay an extra £1,100 on the lease over the £7,500 excess mileage charge…

Motability will know very soon how many customers are leaving the scheme when Direct Line are bombarded by requests for proof of no claims bonus.

It doesnt make any sense to be on the scheme.

One solution to Keep customers would be to allow extensions again. A 5 year lease gives the customers more time to save for the AP.

But yes a lot will leave after July.

What happens to all those without a pristine credit record (would just like to thank the ex wife for this!)

I’ll be off too after 14 happy years on the scheme. The mileage allowance of 10000 is too low for my needs.

                Gutted to be honest………..
