Local Kia has handed over 2 PV5 Passengers today to conversion companies, but they’re not online to configure etc but thought Kia was offering these as WAV from factory also?

There will be a WAV version but they’re currently very new, I don’t think many have seen one of any guise.

I have an issue with side loading WAVs.  They’re fine if you’re parked beside a large pavement but in a supermarket car park you really need 2 parking spaces and that’s never guaranteed.

That said, it’s fantastic that manufacturers are starting to recognise that there is a need and designing from the floor up makes much more sense than trying to convert an EV van where the batteries may not be ideally situated.

From what I understand, Kia is planning to offer the PV5 Passenger as a factory WAV, but those versions aren’t fully live yet in the configurator or online systems. What you’re seeing locally is likely early units being sent to approved conversion partners rather than factory-completed WAVs.

Also, being blunt and straight to the point is fine. Clear questions get clear answers, and there’s no need to apologise for how your brain works.

It’s the only option if you want to tow a caravan.

                    Why

Unfortunately I have suffered a brain injury and occasionally I get confused and often say the wrong thing.

Looks like Motability are still waiting for the government to add the Kia PV5 to the list of WAVs eligible for the WAV Electric Vehicle Grant.

But the Kia PV5 is eligible for the the £1500 passenger Electric Vehicle Grant or a £5000 cargo Electric Vehicle Grant. Feels like a £3500 window tax ! Unfortunately that the cargo version will not be on the Motability scheme.
