My wish for the scheme is more EVs capable of heavy hoists without them being a van. So far the only two regular cars on the scheme that are confirmed for a 150kg hoist is the Peugeot 5008 and Skoda Enyaq.
Am I the only one spotting the elephant in the room here? Do these APs include VAT? Does it say anywhere if they do or don’t?
If they don’t, most people will need to add 20% to them.
If they do, there is profiteering going on by Motability Operations, because adding 20% to APs results in odd prices like £3,594 (£2,995 + VAT), yet all APs seem to be at conventional price points. If VAT is included then they have rounded up quite substantially at our expense.
Tell me if I’m missing something, but these prices make no sense at all.

I don’t know about ‘convenient price points’ but the vast majority of the WPMS Advance Payments have odd pence tacked onto them! For example:

@BigDave Thanks. I didn’t look at WPMS but that’s the sort of ‘odd’ pricing I was expecting, yet the normal prices all still end in 5 or 9, as they always did. As we all know, adding 20% doesn’t end up in figures like that, so they’ve either rounded up or rounded down and given Motability Operations track record I would put money on which of those approaches they have taken!ID5 210 Match Pro I was monitoring is £8,399 up from £6,999. So to me with 20,000 miles per annum 2023 Lotus Eletre is no brainer- even the insurance will cost me between £550 to £750.

It lacks so many features, the KIA EV5 or Enyaq would definitely be better purchases and thats just 2 to mention. I do feel VW is pretty lacklustre on the EV front on the scheme. (I mean VW itself not the wider group)

Thanks Richard, great question! The prices on the website should show the Advance Payment (AP) inclusive of VAT, however I need to advise that this morning were made aware of an issue affecting Advance Payment (AP) figures on our website. Some vehicles are showing two different Advance Payment figures. Right now, we’re checking which price is correct. We’re working to fix this as a priority. My best advice would be to check the website later today for the correct prices, which will be inclusive of VAT. I hope this helps?

Have a nice day and take carefrom the very popular electric monochrome ( had a longer lead time ) that was ZERO AP and has now been increased to £1999 ( to slow demand possibly) and tbh it was a lot of car for zero AP and I always thought its AP would increase )
Ditto. I was looking at the Monochrome and EV3. I felt the Monochrome was worth a £0 AP, but not anymore than £300 (IMHO). The Mini dealer was confident the AP would increase, but to £1999 ! The EV3 Air at £299 was good value, although there were many dealers offering it for £0, one of which has only increased it back to £299 and not the current £999 set from today.

But just to add I suspect along with many other factors a certain car models demand may well be reflected in it AP and possibly why the Monochrome AP has been set as it is
As demands fall and production catches up this may well lower in the future
But there again “Pigs may fly”
