I think I’m going to cancel the agreement early. Oh so many stupid-broken things, some are little niggles others are a pain in the…

I won’t do a story about it and I will just list the problems, any questions just ask and I’ll answer them.

Full charge 100% has 326m on the GOM real range and driving conservatively only gives about 225m.

The two trips main and other show different miles PKW readings.

Radio stations disappearing and have to fav them all again.

The app is useless, doesn’t work most times and when it does it won’t show miles PKW on journeys.

Parking brake warning says that it’s broken and needs took to workshop, happened 3 times over a day. I have pictures.

Wouldn’t select gears today, happened just once. Have video off it.

Cruise control wouldn’t work yesterday, just once. Have a picture.

No auto hold. Big problem for me.

No tyre pressure figures, just says that they are OK.

Some buttons are not very responsive including start and stop button and some touch ones.

Auto lock didn’t work yesterday, just once.

Definitely need a back wiper as rain water doesn’t fall or get blown off because of shape.

No coasting/free wheeling as there is always one bar of regen on and it can’t be turned off. Major problem.

OK Peugeot-chatgpt is useless, if it works which it usually doesn’t.

Speed limit reading is bizarre and useless. It shows random speeds of 17mph and 27mph. It also picks up motorway way slip roads speeds limits so throws up 30 and 40mph. Most of these were in 70mph zones. I’ve seen pictures were they have the speed limit at 90mph.

Some things seem set up for left hand drive cars like dual climate zone and the re-gen paddles are back to front – is up and + is down.

Kick opening of boot sometimes works and sometimes doesn’t.

Android auto always pops up for no reason, so end up going from radio to Spotify song and Google maps.

The seats get really hot in this good weather, very uncomfortable on a long drive. The Kona black leather didn’t get as hot.

There is no V2L on this car. I’ve spent 10s of hours trying to find out about it and there’s nothing except for early advertising of the car. I spent 30mins on the phone to Peugeot CC today and the guy knew what V2L was but didn’t know the e3008 had it. Even asked where I seen that it had it. On hold for most of the call while he contacted different departments and no one knew anything about it. He gives me a case number and said he will see what he can find out, but it might take a few days. 1. There’s no information regarding V2L except for a mention of it in an early brochure. 2. Why aren’t Peugeot selling leads, adapters for it. 3. No one including some at Peugeot know nothing about it. 4. Why is there no mention of it in any of the cars menus, up to date manuals. I don’t think it has it. I did read on an e3008 FB group that it will be an update in 2025. Deal breaker and car could go back because of this.

Some of these are just wee silly things, others aren’t.

Good things. It’s very quiet, comfortable, screens are very responsive, clear and bright. it’s stunning looking, it’s very big, feels bigger than it is. It seems solid, very well put together. And I’ve had a headache from I’ve got this car, caused by this car.

I would usually say give it time, but you really do seem to have made your mind up. We’ve had loads of minor issues with new cars over the years that turned out to be operator error. Reading through everything you said, not much would lead me to make a decision so early on, but, no rear wiper, I would never AGAIN buy a car that didn’t have a rear wiper.

          Sorry to hear that des.

Have you retained a copy of the early brochure, where it mentions V2L?

The Kona has V2L from the charging port (adaptor needed which we spoke about before) and a 3 pin socket inside the car, for your camping!

The Kona has a much less charging speed (103kW) than the Ioniqs but, has a decent charge curve and all the options you would ever want inc @r$e coolers in the event the seats get hot.

It sounds like Peugeot have a lot of glitches to sort out with urgently needed software updates. I hope you can get your issues sorted to your satisfaction. All the best des.

A couple of things with Pug.

Tyre pressure, you dont get actual pressure readings, only that its ‘Ok’. Its a Pug thing

The trips, my one had 3 trips, one realtime, 2nd one was average for the day and third was overall average. That is why the m/kw are different.

Stick with it. Each manufacturer has different ways of doing things, or quirks. Range estimates and actual are universally absurd on all EV,s.

The speed limit problem is not confined to Peugeot, VW do it as well and probably others. The boot opening with your foot. You need to do it and step back it will not open if it thinks it is going to hit something.

car has hill start rather than auto hold just get used to applying the handbrake each time, it automatically comes off when you press the accelerator.

That 225 mile real world range is actually stinking btw.

As im hopefully awaiting the e5008 it’s not a good sign.

Real world range depends a lot on how you drive it and of course temperatures.  My Enyaq is supposed to be about 329, best I’ve had on the GOM (Guess-O-Meter) after a full charge was 305 but in real life probably 275 or less.  In the winter that drops considerably, 220 for a full charge and under 200 real world.

Please excuse spelling/typos. Apart from being a clot it turns out I had one on my cerebellum that's now causing various problems!

I’m feeling slightly guilty now lol. Pops you deserve the first reply as your waiting on one. Pops it’s a good car, with your packs it will be a great car. There has been two recalls already, something to do with the microphone and the headlights, think there might be one to do with the parking break problem. So by the time you get yours these will be ironed out. A few things will won’t effect you with the packs and most of the rest I’m probably nit picking due to the V2L thing.

I took it up the mountain last night and give it a good 😜 I see no problem with the handling, then I don’t know much about that tbh. If I could say something it would be that it feels like the tyre pressure are on the high side, which some people prefer rather than a bit lower for more comfortable ride. It does feel very premium and it’s like a tank, Its so well put together and really quiet. You’ll love it.

Joejoe the V2L in this is what made me cancel the Enyaq, and the wee stupid driver cluster, but this car was always about car camping for me, so could be a deal breaker.

Cheers Kezo, but the Kona is too small, the removed ioniq 5 might have been an option. I think it has V2L. Oh and I’ve screen shots and a downloaded brochure of the Peugeot website saying it has V2L. They’ll not deny it 😁

Ioniq coming from the old Kona with it’s old app, it was flawless and far superior to the e3008 in terms of ease of use and information on both car and app. It was nearly 4yo so I expected improvements with the e3008.

Belfast4 can I apply the handbrake while the car is still in D drive. With the car trying to move forward would it not effect range or cause damage if done over a few years. Can I just do that instead of P parking break first then handbrake. My feet are mangled and the less pressure I put on them the better.

The rest of you folks it’s more range. I’d be ok with the range as it’s similar to the old Kona and I managed fine with it. I’ve done 430 miles this week and charged 3 times and it’s still showing 326 on the GOM. While it is a GOM it should be showing 200s now instead of 300s.

The V2L will decide if the car stays. He gives a case number and said he’d be back in touch in a few days as he looks into it.

I had the old 3008 GT line and it was definitely a love hate relationship, I think this may be the same.

Ps I’ve said before that how a car looks is not really important to me. But feckin hell that is one stunning looking car in side and out but especially in the green-blue colour.

                      Pops you’ll love it 👍

Don’t feel guilty on my behalf des, lol.

I watched a comparison video between the Renault Scenic and the E 3008 yesterday and the two presenters both agreed that the Scenic software was much better set up than the E 3008 because it has a system designed  and licensed by Google (who are the acknowledged experts) whereas it seems Peugeot are using their own in house design. This led to the initial comparison praising the smooth software performance of the Renault while expressing disappointment with the slower response and “glitchy” performance of the Peugeot which included regular car play disconnects and bluetooth drop outs. However they both agreed that it was nothing that couldn’t be improved by software update uploads.

My usage will probably be much less than yours des, so I’m more focussed on the comfort and general ambience of the ‘going out for a short drive experience’ and then sitting back and passing time while enjoying the view and listening to my music.

Just keep the car in drive apply handbrake and it will automatically come off when you drive off. This is exactly what happens when you have auto hold.

Benefits and what to look for
Perhaps the most obvious practical benefit of V2L technology is that it makes amazing camping trips possible.

With an electric SUV fitted with V2L technology, for example, it would be theoretically possible to drive off-road to a remote camping location, and then draw power from the car’s battery to use everyday appliances such as a coffee machine, microwave, or an electric pump for inflating an air mattress.

V2L functionality can also have benefits in more serious situations, including rescue and relief efforts during natural disasters or other crises.

Joss it’s called Vehicle 2 Load. It’s means you can run electrical equipment of it. You could use it to power somethings in an electric blackout or charge an electric mobility scooter by using a standard UK three pin socket and plug.

I’ve read that some folk are charging the car every night on a cheap tariff and running some household electrical items during the day from the evening battery and making decent savings. It can also be used to give a bit of a top up for another EV.

For me it was all about car camping and plugging a small air fryer and or microwave in to have steak, chips and peppered sauce on an isolated beach in the middle of no where lol. It’s a big thing for me

Vehicle to Load.  Effectively using the car’s battery as a power source for any 240v plug item below a certain power draw.

I’ve used it on  a long trip so my daughter can use her laptop for film and music and it also powers the pressure washer when I wash the car.   In a camping situation, you have full electric cooking, heating you can run a kettle, air pump or anything you can think of.  I’ve even seen someone do a whole barbecue near the beach using a George Foreman grill and air fryer.

I have an Ioniq 5, which comes with a plug below the rear bench as well as the adaptor for using the charging socket as an outlet.

I know it’s going somewhat off topic but it’s a shame that Hyundai/KIA don’t have a camper, they’re by far the best with the whole V2L and something the size of the ID Buzz but with kitchen appliances running off proper electricity would be a step above anything else on offer without buying the car/van and adding conversion costs.

des, you should ask them if in fact the Bidirectional charging with a 3.6kw AC type 2 adaptor does not support V2L, why did Peugeot allow a number of leasing companies etc, to advertise very clearly that the Peugeot E3008 would be able to support V2L, with no formal correction by themselves.

This appears to be highly misleading and Peugeot must have been aware of this, as a quick browse online about their product ‘third party’ publicity is a daily requisite for every manufacturer.

There will be a section in the small print of the brochure(s) that says that there may be changes made to the final specifications of the vehicles or words to that effect.  This happened to me a few years ago with SEAT when they omitted front parking sensors on the Leon.

A brochure is not going to carry any weight, you woll have to get over it.

If you had proof at point of sale from Motability website, or Peugeot,s configuration and ordering process, you may have an argument. But Motability,s website specifically states what you order may differ from what is supplied, as manufacturers can change features between the time the vehicle was ordered and delivery date.

Motability know manufacturers change their products constantly and factor that into their contract.
