      “New” electrostatic speakers 🤣😅🤣

      I’m surprised that it’s only taken about 70 years to get ESL’s into cars!

      I had a pair of Qual ESL57’s back in the 70’s, smashing speakers!.

      Please excuse spelling/typos. Apart from being a clot it turns out I had one on my cerebellum that's now causing various problems!

        I think they ESL’s go back more than 70yrs, with early versions going back to before WW1 and bet the 57’s are worth a fair bob today mate, if you still have them.

            I bought this

            Last June £349 but also had Argos vouchers and Sainsbury reward points, I thought 55” was going to be big, not much difference to the old 40”..

            This might end up as a bedroom tv, tbh I think 65” oled will be minimum on my next..

            However it’s a great upto date tv and runs all my devices and online stuff easy every time.. so much better than my 12 yr old one..

              Never seen the the 48″ “C series” go that low and typically stay in the circa £900 range. Well spotted!

                @Kezo

                Unfortunately that was in the Seventies when I was working for a radio/tv firm and got a stupidly good deal on a Quad 33/404 and the speakers. Made the mistake of selling the system to a friend (who still has it) and bought a huge Rotel RA1412 amp and a pair of Kef 104Ab’s which I later changed to 105’s.

                Still got the amp and speakers 40+ years later (and 2 pairs of 104Ab’s in the loft I picked up as “spares” just in case!).

                There’s a couple of RA1412’s on eBay, each going for over £1200! that’s almost 4x what I paid for mine in 1979 🙂
