Although this is a car forum we all that are on motability reliant on welfare due to the fact we are disabled and under DLA and PIP we all are different and some are able to work under the Allowance. Some may be retired and on DLA or PIP we still have no clue what this gov is going to do but to be fair the Con Gov started the grean paper and Labour have said they ruled out the vouchers but not totally Liz kendall has said and I do think know they have pledged more spending on defence they are saying it will hit all spending which is worrying. We know they say they are going to alter tighten eligibility and leaving everyone not knowing since getting into gov is very cruel to all of us are we all going to be destitute under this Labour gov as in the winter fuel cuts which was not thought out and waiting now for 26th March they say to hear what maybe going to happen. Strange there is no talk about our Mobility which is part of DLA and PIP. There is one thing they say it may take a long time to sort this out but they did it very quickly with WFA I do think that the courts may have something to say as well.

Well, the green paper has been published and after a very quick look the first thing that stands out to me is that most of the things mentioned in parliament in that speech are not part of a green paper consultation at all and are going ahead with dates listed. Don’t quite know what to make about so much of it after that vague (deliberately no doubt) speech by Kendall. Highly ambiguous at best, no meat on the bones at all. 🙄🙄

          Green paper here: https://www.gov.uk/government/consultations/pathways-to-work-reforming-benefits-and-support-to-get-britain-working-green-paper/pathways-to-work-reforming-benefits-and-support-to-get-britain-working-green-paper#annex-a-summary-of-policy-measures-and-consultation-questions

Annex A for the list of what’s happening and when.

I can see a lot of people losing the Daily Living component of PIP, having to get 4 points in every category will be difficult. The knock on effect will be  hundreds of thousands of carers losing Carers Allowance. This is going to hurt.

So if I’ve got this correct,  currently you need 8 points for standard rate and 12 for enhanced rate. You will now need 40 points, ouch!

I thought it was 4 points in at least one category, not 4 points in each.

Edit: As of November 2026, you will need at least four points in one category to qualify for the daily living component.

So you can get 8 in category A, and 2 points in Categories B and C, giving you 12 points. I hope it is like that, 4 points in every category did seem harsh.

Brilliant breakdown of the sham green paper over on B&W website that EVERYONE should read. It’s far worse than we all thought I’m afraid. Hopefully another legal challenge will come forth from this. Talk about deceitful! As I said in my earlier post, it ain’t no green paper at all, it’s a sham illusion of a green paper – A Trojan Horse in fact!
