Finally picked her up yesterday after what seemed like an eternity. I can really say for me this is the best car i have owned on this scheme. The ride is exquisite, so silent and smooth and even though it is a large car its very easy to park thanks to the amazing camera system. Just 24 hours in and i still cannot get used to people pointing at it as you drive it down the road lol.

Wow I am jealous I want one
Unfortunately I have suffered a brain injury and occasionally I get confused and often say the wrong thing.
April 28, 2024 at 11:34 am #276502I like it.
Its centre console is a better design than the one in the Ionic 5 and they should have had a “red” available in the Ionic 5.
Do a pic of the boot space if you get a mo.
April 28, 2024 at 12:13 pm #276503Loads of space, really deceiving. We can get 3 large boxes in for the shopping with bags of room to spare and the wifes wheelchair fits in fine. Goes back a very long way and the boot lid opens vertically so no banging of your nut when loading the shopping. The frunk is also large, holds my 5m Ohme cable, the 3m one that came with the car and the granny charger plus books and wheel nut keys etc with room to spare.

Hope it gives you many miles of enjoyment.
April 28, 2024 at 2:45 pm #276516Looks great!
They really do look different going down the road, especially the view from the rear.
Enjoy!

April 28, 2024 at 3:36 pm #276521Congratulations Stuart, good to hear you’re happy with it ? keep us updated on how you get on with it over the next couple of months ?
I like the red but cause I’ve had red recently I wanted a change… now I’m wishing I’d picked red as I’d have had it in February instead of hoping it’ll be here in July ?☹️ ??
April 28, 2024 at 3:43 pm #276522Yes, both seats fold down with the remote buttons just at the top of the boot in the photo.

April 28, 2024 at 5:36 pm #276537Nice colour scheme! How’s the performance?
April 28, 2024 at 6:21 pm #276542Very rapid indeed, especially in sport mode. Handles it better than the Soul did with it been rear wheel drive, the Soul just used to wheel spin all the time but this is very planted when it goes.

----------------------------April 29, 2024 at 9:05 am #276568Lovely car and colour @Stuart. How are you finding the rear windscreen without the wiper?
At the moment I can’t make my mind up between the Ioniq 5 or 6. I do like the idea of a change to a saloon instead of an SUV.
Happy driving.
April 29, 2024 at 9:41 am #276570The rear wiper really isn’t an issue, it literally threw it down yesterday the rake of the window means it just flows off when stationary and the wind because of its streamlined shape just clears the screen in seconds. I test drove both and like you fancied a change and I’m glad I went for the 6, seen hundreds of 5’s but still not seen a 6 yet lol.

April 29, 2024 at 9:53 am #276573Glad you finally got it, Stuart. Enjoy in now after the long slow boat from Korea!!
April 29, 2024 at 10:11 am #276574Thanks for the info @Stuart. I was speaking to my dealer this weekend one of his retail customers decided not to buy an Ioniq 6 due to he could not get all his golf gear in the boot, looking at your photo’s the boot is a fair size, all I can think he must have a family of golfers.
April 29, 2024 at 10:46 am #276576looks fab mate 🙂
April 29, 2024 at 3:27 pm #276583Congrats, @Stuart. The beast is a real looker – a proper “car” and not a Panzer-in-waiting like all the SUVs. Seriously considering one for my next MB car. Only some reviews putting me off by saying that the ride is rubbish over our sad, bad minor roads. Cannot be doing with having backbone battered to bits. Do let us know what you find the long-term ride is like.
Congrats again…
April 29, 2024 at 4:23 pm #276587Lovely car, we also test drove both the 5 and 6 but the call of the Namsan Edition and the nagging from the daughter mean we ended up with the 5. We were in the showroom today as my car went in for the ICCU recall, they had a 6 with the pano roof, that opens. It really makes a difference to the inside and we may well have ended up with that one, if we’d have test driven that one instead.
Still, lovely car, you’ll get used to the looks, eventually. Wait until you hit a public charger and there’s others around you wondering how you charge so fast.

He must have all the gear and no idea lol, the boot really is huge just a narrow-ish mouth opening

Covered a few miles now since collecting it and most of that was on our miserable A and B roads, like you i read those reviews but i can safely say they are a little over exaggerated in my opinion. I have damaged lower vertebra and i think the ride is sublime, one of the smoothest cars ive ever driven and very good over bumps and uneven surfaces. On the motorways you can here a pin drop, im more than satisfied with the ride quality.
