coralieNow this would be nice on the scheme i bet the ap will be very high
April 25, 2021 at 8:17 am #146483Haven’t watched the video in full yet. However, initial thoughts are 1) Looks good; original design (a bit, at least). 2) Nasty touch screens right in drivers’ eyeline for maximum distraction from the business of driving. 3) Seems to ride, and maybe handle, rather well.

HarryThe 305bhp should be fantastic.
I hope they make a hatchback version that looks like that as it looks bloody fantastic.

RichardIt’s a shame they can’t show that 44″ heads up display I’d love to see that. Car does look gorgeous looks very roomy inside something so many EVs fail on out the gate. Shame we font get the same $11,000 gov grant that South Koreans get that’d make it a mere $33,000 so easily hit the scheme.
It’s clear with cars like this being released were really hitting the tipping point to where EVs are going to take over ice. Especially with that 80% charge in 18 mins. I’ve had visits to petrol stations take as long as that.
Reminds me of my old Renault 11 from exterior styling
April 26, 2021 at 11:40 am #146618800V charging, like the Taycan, very nice as it halves the charging time compared to the 400V systems on most EVs at the moment.
The internal door mirror/outside wing mirror-cameras like the Honda-e, I dunno if I like them or not but nice to see. Personally, having driven quite a lot of european cars, I’d prefer the physical door mirrors for when the elctronics glitch.
I like the AC outlet although I had that in a SEAT Alhambra & never used it so suspect it’s not something that will get used much, however, if it can output enough juice it offers a way to charge an electric wheelchair whilst you drive (probably a lithium one), my SEAT was limited to 150W which was useless for this. Charging a wheelchair in the car allows for good touring capabilities & removes so many limitations.
The moving centre console is something that will benefit anyone who breaks down, as it will allow you to shuffle across & exit the nearside door more easily in an emergency.
Hopefully the Ioniq 5 will arrive on the scheme at some point in the future, I would definitely be very interested when I come to replace the e-2008 in two years time.
Richard is right saying that the tipping point in the EV vs Fossil battle is approaching fast, we just need some larger EVs on the scheme now to further that.

RichardI just watched the fully charged review one awesome feature when you put an indicator on a video feed down the flank of that side of the car pops up on the main dashboard, genius!
Rear seats are electrically adjustable, loads if leg room & a huge boot.
I really want one I think it reminds me of my Renault 11 TXE Electronic from when I was 18. It was from 1985 but had electric everything, digital dashboard, voice synth loved that car despite its flaws.

RichardThat 150w limit was down to the fact you had a cheap inverter built into the car taking a paltry 12v into 240v plus many chargers really don’t like inverters like that I had numerous phone chargers that’d trip the inverter out I had. Whereas in this it can charge another car, run aircon & a 55″ TV for 24 hours apparently so I don’t think charging a disability aid would be too much, really good point for us & the scheme vehicle to load could be a game changer.

RichardThese 100% electric designed ground up cars are going to destroy ice in short order I see the EV6 can tow up to 1600kg too & BYD in China have 7 seat SUVs with huge range & quality too.
Next 2 to 3 years is going to be amazing just need prices to come down more now

Mike CooperYeh I saw this car on YouTube being driven in South Korea,it was the one with the 2 ipad type screens as wing mirrors which looked like they could be a bit of a distraction to me.Amazing car though and Hyundai have their own dedicated charging stations over there which are quite a sight to see.
