I thought it might be a good idea if I bit the bullet and just started a Thread dedicated to (what I hope is) general ‘Interesting Stuff’ that doesn’t fit under other existing Threads, rather than keep hijacking the existing ones (as I am want to do at an appalling rate.  Sorry).

Peregrine webcam would be an intriguing if sometime gruesome watch. A friend had a peregrine “lunch spot” just outside his window at high-rise office in Croydon. Pigeons were enjoyed regularly by the raptors on the ledge – red in beak and claw!

Get regular sightings of peregrines here (Sussex coast). Lazy circling looking for lunch followed by spectacular 200mph-plus stoop to grab it. Acceleration and speed has to be seen to be believed.

Green bright meteor/fireball spotted last night, I saw it through the window, Mrs aj saw it whilst out in the garden with the dog…

This is my 2nd sighting for me, 1st for Mrs ajn…

Cor, ajn!  Lucky you!

I don’t have much luck with meteors, even during meteor showers.  Either the sky is clear and the meteors are a ‘no show’ or it’s “the most spectacular meteor event in 30 years!” and I get heavy cloud and rain. 🙂

Noticed the 10 at 10 minutes thing after the event last time kezo, like the next day even, however our lights are off mostly anyway, light sensitive left eye…

Having a stroll about the garden found theses..

Anyone know what they are called, looks like a weed, we quite like them, however also spotted it growing on the  lawnnot an issue, just out of interest would like to know, any ideas 🤔

we first though that kezo, but these things are growing in the flower beds, sort of stood up like a garden plant with pointed long thin leaves, rather than rounded, spreading onto the grass it seems..

must admit I haven’t a clue tbh, I’ll open packs of seeds and just scatter..

Never seen these just want to make sure no harm to the dog, he’s always walking through and stepping on everything out there 😆.

Yes think you solved it kezo, typed in checked images, looks just like those little flowers…

It’s been a while kezo, 5 decades even, however on spotting this, it caused a 👀😳 moment…

Mrs aj only like the raspberry flavour 😧🤨..

I grew up on strawberry flavour😆..

Those finger biscuits don’t look as big as I remember, still nice dry though

Unfortunately over a couple of mornings the other week, a heron was spotted at the pond..

Great birds, however the bloody thing ate all the fish from my pond, however it is breeding season for them..

The interesting thing was the price of the fish to restock, uurrrmm NO Thanks 🤨..

Decided to see if anyone selling any privately, online sale site type thing..

Not sure how this post is going to pan out, needs moderating however seems there are atleast 5 kio carp two large,and loads of gold fish from 8” down to 3”, so it’s going to cost me a nice donation to the food bank charity as agreed with the previous owner 👍😁
