Insurance legal cost cover

Just a quick question, does anyone know if the car insurance also comes with the separate legal costs cover?

Need to start litigation against someone and my solicitor has said that any policy I have that includes legal cover will pay costs.

And as I’m tight as ducks bottom, if someone else pays it’s a win

Going back 25 years it did for personal injuries sustained if it was obviously the other drivers fault. Not sure if it’s still the case. May be worth checking if you have family legal protection on your household policy, we always add this.

Taken from my policy: . I suspect that personal liability cover for personal matters other than mobility won’t be covered.

Best to ring DLMS and ask.

Legal expenses cover won’t let you appoint your own solicitor. There is likely a panel of solicitors that would only be appointed if needed – cover is for non-fault motor accidents relating to that vehicle/ policy only.

Household insurance legal cover will almost always exclude anything to do with a motor vehicle.
