If Tesla were to joint Motability do we think that 99% of motability leases would then be Tesla and no other car manufacturers cars would be leased .

so it could be called  Tesla-ability

Tesla make very good cars but as with all dissabled the cars must fit their needs. The model x is the only one that would fit the bill for us and that’s never getting on the scheme.

Not until the charging infrastructure is vastly improved.  I’d love an EV as most of my journeys are under 10 miles.  Unfortunately my car isn’t close enough to the house and no driveway to fit a charging point.

When I do my longest journeys (120 to 200 miles) most of them on A roads through wild and rural Northumberland, so no chance of finding a charging point and not the sort of place to be dead at the side of the road in the middle of Winter!.

Please excuse spelling/typos. Apart from being a clot it turns out I had one on my cerebellum that's now causing various problems!

I think they’d get a lot of business through motability but nowhere near 99%. I don’t even think it would be close to 50%. I wouldn’t be get one as I think they’d be too low for me.

I poped into the telsa showroom in bristol and was advised the model Y will be available in the UK from spring 2022…. it’s a decent sized cross over suitable for many and an expected price tag of 30k….

Please get it on the scheme and sign me up ?

No EV’s on the market suitable for carrying my mobility gear yet and I doubt there ever will be, I’ll end up with 2nd hand diesels for the rest of my driving days I think.

vinalspin i understand what your saying they all seem small but mobility need too have cars to fit all disability’s and there equipment

We can only dream that a Tesla will ever come onto the scheme given the current cap and BHP limit.  I for one would be first in the queue if it did happen.

Tesla wouldn’t be of the slightest interest to me as I have no off street parking available, therefore cannot charge at home.

Motability having cars to fit all disabilities and their equipment is a good plan but if they do go all electric (which they will have to do at some point before 2035) there will not be any larger vehicles at all that will take bigger mobility gear, I’m not blaming Motability here I’m just stating the facts that unless car manufacturers start making big vehicles like the Galaxy or the Rifter/Berlingo, Alhambra etc etc etc in full EV guise then the only choice for everyone would be second hand I.C.E. vehicles that would be very old.

I’d also need a model X and that’s just dreaming to think it might be added. Even then the acceleration would never be used by me I’d probably snap in two. lol

I’m coming to the end of my driving days anyway so I may soon leave the scheme.

Phil its hardly driving when in a Tesla, they will be allowed to go fully autonomous very soon.
