I’ve just cracked open my first can of Carling, even Mrs Joe is watching. I can’t predict us losing, it’s not in my nature. Going for a 3-2 win for England with a goal for Foden. The way Spain play I think it’s going to be an open game.

I think 2-1 flattered England as Spain were by far the better team but that’s the beauty of football as England, with a bit of luck, could have won the game.

Absolutely gutted about the football and whilst I know just getting to the final is an achievement it’s yet another tournament where we could have won but didn’t!
Southgate will probably stay on but I just don’t see us winning anything as long as he is in charge. His style of football (defensive ) is not only outdated in the modern game but it’s also boring and bloody frustrating! We must be the only country that can take corners and pass it back to our own goalie!

Graham Potter seems to be the red hot bookies favourite and as much as he seems a nice guy, it would be like swapping Southgate for Southgate. He even looks a bit like Southgate!
I would like to see someone like Unai Emery or Ange Postecoglou but it will never happen! The best I can hope for really would be for someone like Mark Robins to jump into contention, as at least they play attacking football.

I switched off after the final whistle so didn’t see what happened but it’s a massive achievement to reach the final and something to be proud of.

Willis, it’s a sad state of affairs from my standpoint that I only know “big Ange” from the choices you give. There was a time when I knew a lot about English football but the introduction of so many foreigners has put me off. I don’t mean the guys you noted are foreigners it’s more that I don’t know anything about them or who they are.
Over the years I’ve had a couple of English teams at the top of my must-watch list, Manchester United, with Sir Alex at the helm and Liverpool but now I can’t tell you much about the English game.
I think the introduction of foreign players, in small amounts, is a good thing but the numbers coming in over the years have diluted the Englishness (is that a word lol) of the game down south.
