Hyundai have brought out the replacement for the current Ioniq5 in the US, it will be considerably cheaper to compete with the influx of Chinese cars, will we see a reduction in the outgoing model AP

The current Ultimate AP is about £4500.
My one was 3000 at the time but dealer had a deal on 750, and 750 from mota took it down to 1500.
I cant see the new model being cheaper.
The ap on the tesla is 2500, pch, insurance and maintenance is £267.
Instead of gifting mota £344/month i should be £70/month in my pocket.

There is no “replacement for the current Ioniq5” it’s just the normal production year updates, some limited technical updates but mostly trim changes.
prices are busting being adjusted also to mitigate local market conditions, all US Ioniq 5 are built in the USA now so its most likely discounts due production savings and no shippings costs now
the current generation Ioniq 5 won’t actually change until 2028 globally.
I think it is cheaper trim, like @Woodpecker ‘s Tesla: rather than reducing the price, Tesla simply renamed their standard cars to “Premium ” and introduced cheapest version and named it “Standard “.

The spec is still high, but dropping the price by 6000 by removing front running light, cloth inserts on the seats and a manual steering adjustment, removing 2 speakers, IS how they made it more affordable and the best spec for price in the range.
It was NOT a simple renaming exercise. The sales speak for themselves.
It also means that in 2 or 3 years there will be a LOT of base spec model 3,s going very cheap 2nd hand.
The issue with tesla are they are difficult to get adaptations for due to them being really anti modifications. Plus if you need a hoist for any NHS powerchair it basically won’t happen as even the model y wont support something like the q100r.

The Tesla 3 2 year lease is definitely attractive unfortunately it can’t tow our 1500 kg caravan, the only option would be a long range Y, not such an attractive deal compared to Mobility Ioniq 5/6 current scheme lease.
I am going to wait to see if the Ioniq 5/6 or Suzuki Across AP falls, I am in no rush, I can go outside the scheme
