      Confused a little.

Had an email from gov.uk that Pro EV Group Ltd have made a claim for installing my chargepoint,

Pro ev were sent via ohme who motorbility use.The email states if pro ev did install no need to reply..So who actually pays who what for the installatiom, from motorbility then ohme then pro ev in my case..I thought motorbiliy claim the grant and pay ohme so in my head they sub contracted pro ev.What i dont get is why pro ev have made a claim for the grant?

The actual installer is the one who applies for the grant (in your case, the sub-contractor, Pro EV group Ltd) and they then should deduct it from the invoice provided for the customer (or contractor, in your case Ohme) Ultimately, Motability pay Ohme for the install and everyone’s happy.

The only goverment backed OZEV grants currently available are chargepoint and infrastructure available to landlords of residential/commercial properties.  The OZEV Grant for homeowners ended on 31st March 2022.

You can only apply for a chargepoint or infrastructure grant if:

            • you own or manage flats, houses, apartment blocks or business premises
            • the property you own or manage is in the UK

You can apply on behalf of a company, charity or public sector organisation, but it must be registered in the UK. The grant can only be used on existing properties. It cannot be used for buildings under construction.

The grant or grants you can apply for also depend on:

            • whether you’re a residential or commercial landlord
            • the type of property you own or manage

For  those in rented housing, the landlord or social housing provider can apply for a £350 grant per chargepoint towards purchase and installation of a single chargepoint, limited 200 applications per year.

As far as I am concerned Motability, Ohme or ProEV do not own or are landlrds of the properties we live in, it is also highly unlikely Motability can apply for the grant on behalf of scheme users!

Motability work directly with the manufacturer (Ohme), Ohme then pass the work onto one of their accredited installers (ProEV for example). The acreddited installer then contracts the work out to local companies/tradesmen.

I question that Sean. The OZEV grant for homeowners ended in 2022. The only grants available now are for residential and commercial landlords, as either a chargepoint or an infrastructure grant. See my previous post for more details 🙂
