Cannot have a home charger currently, no off road parking although trying to work with the council. It was mentioned that motability offer an alternative to a home charger but I can’t remember what it was, how it worked etc so hoping someone could enlighten , or point me in the right direction. Cheers

When you order an EV, Motability will pass your details onto BP Pulse, who will then contact you about getting a home charger. Once it’s established that this isn’t an option, they will email you a code to enter when you sign up for a BP Pulse account and RFID card.
You need to set up a direct debit, and you will be invoiced monthly for the juice you’ve used, you can check it out on the app, sometimes it doesn’t register properly and you get free juice which is a bonus.
Prices are:
Slow (under 50kWh) 12p kW
Rapid (50-99kWh) 15p kW
Ultra (100kWH+) 27p kWI only use the 50kWh machines, and 15p is a good rate, any slower and you’re better off at Tesco’s etc as they are free, and the Ultra chargers are a bit expensive unless your car can make use of the power, the Kona will only accept 77kW max, 20-80% on a 50kW is about 45mins, and only marginally quicker on a ultra but nearly twice the price.

RichardCheck zapmap for what’s available near you as my nearest BP charger is 15 miles away so no good for me at all & you might be better looking at what electricity supplier you’re using & whether a nearby charger gets you a better deal if using them at home.
Ecotricity for example you get cheaper charging rates on their chargers if you’re a home customer so you’d have to do the maths to see what the best deal works out at overall for home & charging.

Ecotricity 50% discount for customers ended last month, now a flat rate of 30p kW

I’ve got a bp pulse 22kwh 5 minutes from the house, free to use and a bank of rapid chargers (50kwh) 100m away from chargeplace scotland, 25p per kW.

RichardWell that’s handy then, excellent.
You’ll have to check what a 22kw will charge whatever car you get at as most won’t do 22kw AC they’ll fall back to 7kw or in some cases slightly less so do check what you want to get will charge at whatever speed you’re counting on.
Obviously the genuine rapid chargers aren’t a problem

I’d been reading about that, so the plan is the slower 7kwh or 22kwh) charger for overnight charging, and I have the rapids for if I need it quicker, or the slower ones are being used
