Hi all. Newcomer here. Now I’ve a couple of questions that I need help with. My 3yrs for pip ends in the autumn, fingers crossed it will be renewed, and I desperately want to change cars as I’ve had nothing but issues with it.

When can I ‘order’ my new car ?

do I have to give my current car back before I get my new car?

why aren’t there better dealerships (variety) in Ireland!!!!

ok, so just help with the first 2 if possible. Would appreciate any advice on this.

you can order 3 months before lease end date eg i can order 28 feb for 30 may delivery obviously production times may vary but you keep your current car until new one arrives.

you simply hand your old car to dealer you pick up new car from same day.

there are some issues with car supply to ni due to brexit issues as they require conformity certificates but as to the lack of variety i think thats just down to the fact its a smaller market.

I got the car from Belfast but I live miles away from there and there’s a dealership down the road that (hopefully!) does the car we like. Would I just drop it off there or back in Belfast??

You leave your old car at the garage you pickup your new car.

When you go to pick up your new car, they will inspect the old car for Good Condition Bonus, and you must bring the 2 sets of keys.

Its better to delete any data on your old car before dropping it off, essentially go into the dash menu and reset it. The garage where you pickup your new car, ask them to do that for you if you are not sure.

Check your new car is the one you ordered and enter your PIN , and away you go.

              That’s brilliant. Thankyou so much.

              eased my mind somewhat
