The newest electric car on the scheme is the well regarded Peugeot E-208, nice looking motor.
100kw motor and 50kWh battery.
from £1499 Advance Payment.

Very good news, now to hope that the e-2008 also appears as it’s a bit easier to get into for those of us with major spinal injuries.
December 10, 2019 at 1:33 pm #99435I think that makes 7 BEVs on the scheme wmc, great news and we’re certainly moving in the right direction.
The smaller car section is getting the bulk of the BEVs, not sure which of the larger saloons/SUVs will be first to appear.
If Santa is listening make it the Volvo xc40, although at £50,000+ its highly unlikely and with Volvo stating “demand will outstrip supply” making it almost impossible.

DBtruthI’m pleased to see this has joined the scheme. Looks great.
I’d love to see the Hyundai Kona EV join the scheme but I’ve read the demand is huge. I’d like to think they’ll be available eventually. It looks like that would be a good height for getting in/out although I’ve never actually sat in one so can’t say for sure.
December 10, 2019 at 2:08 pm #99439My opinion, and my opinion only. Is it not time Motability starting using some of those reserve to entice Motability customers into electric rather than sitting on it.
Unfortunately I have suffered a brain injury and occasionally I get confused and often say the wrong thing.

BrydoCheer up Elliot, “all good things come to those who wait”.
Oscarmax that’s a good shout, even if the fact that all BEVs are automatic is used as an excuse.
I would like to see the government legislate something to ensure the disabled get an equal share of the BEV market.
December 10, 2019 at 4:00 pm #99452I’m in no rush Brydo. The lease on my BMW isn’t up yet.
December 10, 2019 at 4:38 pm #99457Elliot we extended to five years and will be required to change by the end of next year. My fear is that there will be nothing of use to us, BEV wise, as we “need” an SUV type of vehicle so the wife can get in and out.
I would go for a decent hybrid, like the xc40, but no guarentee there will be any on the scheme next year. I envisage getting something I don’t really want then asking motability if we can change when a suitable EV SUV arrives on the scheme.
