Sp why can’t Motability apply for the EV Govetnment grant to reduce the purchase costs?

Because the EV grant focuses on the list price of the car, and therefore has very minimal impact to the consumer other than the price they’d usually pay at the dealer. The EV grant won’t always have a major impact on Advance Payments because there are other parameters to the figures such as the discount for bulk orders from manufacturers, resale value, servicing costs etc etc.

Also, very few cars qualify for the full £3,750 EV grant, and that’s only applicable for cars under £37,000 OTR which takes that list down even further. The £1,500 grant doesn’t even touch the surface compared to those aforementioned parameters to the AP cost. Some cars, like the Hyundai Kona Electric had an immediate price decrease when it qualified for the grant, but that wasn’t major.
