Hi, wonder if anyone can help, we have ordered our first car back in Nov 2023 and were told 3-4 month wait. Still not had any confirmation of delivery date – have chased lookers who have said there is still no VIN number on the order and they currently have 3 dates on the order (24th April, 30th April & 14th May ) but he can’t say what the dates are for and the call back towards end of May for an update.

Does anyone know what these dates are for and how long it will take for a VIN number – my understanding is that the car will only get this number once it’s built.

what am I best doing – just waiting as I have been or shall I cancel the order an look elsewhere – I’ve called a few dealers local who have said you need to go in and place an order before they can tell you the wait times – I don’t want to cancel an order an then be waiting 5 months plus again ??‍♀️

as this is the first time I’m unsure what it means or what to do any help would be greatly appreciated

      thanks

I dont know what spec you have ordered or what colour, but there are 40 brand new Grandlands in various area’s of the country and in various colours,on Autotrader just phone call away.

Yes, if the dealer carrying stock is willing to do a Motability sale on the car they stock.

Dont get your hopes up straight away mind. My experience recently of chasing after cars “allegedly” showing as in stock on Autotrader has not been great. Often they say they are in stock yet they are not, they are in transit and could be weeks or more away from being delivered to the dealership.

Look at a few adverts and find a few cars that suit you and check that the photos are of the actual car and not just generic photos and then phone the dealer to confirm. If you do find one it’s pretty straightforward so long as they agree for it to go to Motability.

Dont know what area you’re in. Evans halshaw gateshead are always good at finding in stock cars. I had mine within 10 days and know of of lots of others had similar experience with them

I waited just short of 8 months for a sportage no updates from dealer as he said he would only know anything when vehicle lands with them. I had contacted him and he said only update he could give was there is no VIN number yet .2 weeks later he phoned to say that’s vehicle with them.

We ordered Grandland 1.2 petrol ultimate in white the end of December 2023.

Our local dealers said it was about 8 weeks for the manual and 12 weeks for the auto so should have the car the end of March 2024 or early April. That was then extended to end of April and now been informed its looking likely it will be May/June time before we get another update.

Before we placed the order I went through the process of ordering the car online to purchase which also gave expected delivery date of end of March. Just done the same today and its now showing September/October for delivery.

Noticed as well with the new motability price list that came out a few weeks ago the petrol automatic Grandlands have all been removed.

The updated petrol Grandland is getting the new 1.2 mild hybrid engine that Stellantis use across their range – Peugeot, etc. Should be on the scheme soon.

I went with someone when they ordered a grandland diesel 13th December 23 was told 4 months, delivery in April. She phoned start of April they told her sorry 17th May now phoned again today now told 17th June. It is becoming a joke, I am just wondering have they had her car in and retailed it.
