Hi guys, currently on my 4th Motability vehicle about to receive my 5th.

I’ve always received the good condition bonus but the other day whilst having a bit of a clearout I managed to spill some hite paint on the passenger seat. Nopthing is getting it off, including white spirit.

Would I still get the good condition bonus?

Depends how noticeable it is i guess, is it water or oil based paint? Any chance of showing us a photo?

I wouldn’t expect to receive it under the circumstances, how much paint?

Might be worth taking to a good valeter who might know how best to remove it, a small price to pay to be sure of your £500.

If I seem a little strange, that's because I am.

Try scrapping it first with a light wire brush or if you don’t have one use a fork and slightly agitate the paint off, then moisten with warm soapy water add baking soda if you have some and scrub with a scouring pad, clean off and repeat process, if it ends up looking worn or slightly discoloured then you should be fine under wear and tear, the key thing is to make it look like it could of been done through use rather than actual paint.

            Good luck.

Don’t think that will pass unfortunately.  Best bet as has been said is to try a professional valeter.  Good luck anyway.

Spray with WD40 leave to soak 5 mins then hard rub with hot damp cloth

I don’t think it will be too hard to get it, or at least enough for it to not be overly noticeable.

if your not confident a decent valeter will do it.

Have you tried paint wipes. Available at all good diy stores or try some panel wipe or warm soapy water and then give the whole seat a shampoo.

If white spirit doesn’t soften it it’s not oil based. But you need to get it off as quick as possible.

you should get at least some of it off.

Steam cleaner with a microfiber cloth will take it off.

Just be gentle and take your time for best results.

Steam was the only way I managed it on my old car regardless of base

Hi,  In my experience, white spirit can’t shift dried oil based paint. Only cellulose thinners can help, this is what car sprayers used to thin their paint and clean their equipment. I’m talking of course before everything went water based. You can still get it.

                              Regards, wonky
