It becomes a problem when the presenter becomes bigger than the show and although I believe everyone should be able to contribute in debates such as this the BBC has a history, although not always, of remaining neutral.

In this instance Lineker has actually taken the spotlight off the immigration problem and made it a BBC problem and together with the Boris Johnston/BBC chairman problem it’s the last thing the BBC need.

Off-air content that isn’t subject to Ofcom rules on impartiality?

Not an area I know anything about Wigwam. I was merely stating the fact that the story that did the rounds recently that an episode of Wild Isles had been pulled from BBC1 and moved to iPlayer was untrue. It was always commissioned as an iPlayer only episode.

Sorry to burst the conspiracy theory bubble, but Wild Isles was commissioned from day 1 as a 5 part series with a separate dedicated episode for iPlayer. The story that you read about the 6th episode being pulled from BBC1 is complete and utter nonsense.

I agree but,we know who can be blamed for stirring it was a 6 part series – the one and only Guardian!
