Just a heads up. If you go on to the Ford web page it’s possible to book one of these for a 48 hour test drive even as a Motability customer. I’ve done it today as I’m interested to see what it’s like.

Well I have an update. My local Ford dealer called me today and was full of excuses as to why they won’t be giving me a 48 hour test drive. First excuse was the demand has been overwhelming and the car is fully booked. My wife checked on her way home and just like it always is, the car was sitting outside the dealership after they’ve closed. Second excuse is they are putting too many miles on the car and don’t want to let it out until they have a replacement, which contradicts excuse number one. This is the same dealership that huffed and puffed when my son asked them to unlock the demonstrator so he could sit in it to see what it was like. Will be interesting when Ford head office call me and ask how I got on with the car.
What part of the country are you based? I picked up a mustang Mach-E this morning for the 48h test drive. Filled out the enquiry on Saturday eve (after seeing this post) and was all booked in an hour later. Even confirmed at the time that i would be a MB customer and wanted the base model but they only had the top spec.
Iv done about 50 in it so far and i must admit its much nicer than I expected! Everything so far seams premium and well put together. Its actually very comfortable im over 6′ and 120kg and i have space.
Its the AWD version so its crazy quick. Getting about 3m/KW driving some dual carriage and town driving!Hadn’t look into it much as i wasn’t expecting it to be so good not sure about specs but. Best bits so far are the 360 camera and B&O sound system!
Unfortunately had a few errors error messages for the the i drive and then the adaptive cruise but both cleared after turning off and on again.
Infotainment system seams good! Changing settings ect is fine but i dont like that its portrait. Also the door sills are quite high so makes it difficult to get in and out.
Overall its a great car gonna have a look a proper look at the spec on available on MB but i don’t think it will be for me due to the door sill and infotainment.
November 20, 2023 at 9:12 pm #248823I’m in North Nottinghamshire but like I said the dealer has form for being unhelpful.
November 20, 2023 at 9:19 pm #248825As Mark says, it absolutely disgusting pitiful escuses. I take it, thay you booked the test drive as a retail customer and not as a Motability customer. I only hope you get a call/survey re the test drive from head office. If you don’t I’d be emailing them! Have you thought of trying another dealership?
Unfortunately, the dealer knows that I’m a Motability customer. The problem is the offer is Monday to Friday only and with working my next closest Ford dealer is too far away to collect it from. No doubt Ford will follow up my enquiry and I’m looking forward to telling them what happened.
Ford obviously need to shift a few of these otherwise they wouldn’t be offering it.

Prob a bit far to travel for a test drive. Its a shame as he treating you like that. Deffo try and get it booked at another dealer if you can or call up under an alias. Might be onto a winner

That’s unfortunate. Hopefully a strong word with Ford may well result in them having an uncomfortable conversation with their Head Office contact.

I do hope so. The AWD Long Range version is much better specced and I’d even considering pushing my budget for that one. Especially as that is one car I can get into and out of on even my worst times.

November 21, 2023 at 8:55 am #249090Looks as though the Mustang Mach-E is no longer available on MB.

That confirms what i was told yesterday while having the Explorer Tour,i asked about the Mach E he said there were just 2 left in Ford stock.
Also Kuga Black Edition and Graphite are both finished.
November 21, 2023 at 11:39 am #249149I believe the Ford Mustang Mach-E is getting a couple of minor tweaks – including new paint colours – so “should” return to MB in the near future.

Only when Ford can’t sell the base model 😉
November 21, 2023 at 6:39 pm #249249Would be nice if some of these manufacturers like Ford offered us more than the base model. It’s not as if there’s a massive price increase by going one model up with cars like the Mustang and i4 etc.

Absolutely. Ford, Audi, even the original offerings for the ID5, ID4 and Enyaq were base models. Invariably, if there’s only 1 model available you can bet it’ll be the base model. What’s frustrating is that many with old models that would really help those of us with back problems or upper limb weakness, things like heated seats, electric seats and power tailgate.
I can understand withholding the top spec, like the EV6, and Ioniq 5 as there’s a cost implication to us and the manufacturer should be confident of selling all of those they need to.

I was just on the verge of saying the top spec Ioniq 5 is on the scheme, then I paused and realised the 2023 Namsam..
I don’t see why Kia have witheld the EV6 GTS as Hyundai tend to include them and are slightly more expensive than Kia I believe. Having said that I wouldn’t pay for a top spec EV6 going by the AP’s of the GTL.

No idea atm. Looks like everything decent is being removed. Luckily I’m in no rush as I’ve extended the 3 series which I can’t fault. I’ll wait until the new quarter to see what’s on but it might be a case of going private if nothing decent gets added.

I only said to Brydo earlier it looks like I’ll be leaving the scheme and buying private, if nothing in January.
