Hi All,

Having recently won enhanced mobility at appeal I’m trying to weigh up if I should join motability before the new changes come into force.  One small issue is I don’t currently have a licence despite being in my 30s.

I’m wondering, if I meet the published criteria for a driving lessons grant am I basically guaranteed to receive it?  Having needed to go to appeal I obviously received a backpayment, and I am worried they will deny it because of that, although I’m hoping to use it for the AP and some other expenses.

Also, does anyone have an experience of how long it takes after application for the grant to come through?

If you do intend to get a car through Motability make sure you order it before 1st July this year. Hopefully by the time the car arrives you will have passed your test. They will not know anything about your back payment.
