It may not be down to Motability.

It could be that the manufacturer that has pulled it from the scheme, for example if they have full production run for an extended period or if it is due a refresh with committed orders already taking the available slots. Plus many other possible reasons.

Cars do come and go on/off the scheme all the time as witnessed by @wmcforum’s Daily updates thread!

Doesn’t help folk just about to place an order and it was their vehicle that suited their needs.

Well, as you posted at post #372303

….When it comes to my renewal I’ll have a list of appropriate cars and the first dealer to have stock can have my business………..

Always a wise move having a ‘Plan B’ list of appropriate cars just in case this sort of thing occurs.

I apologise if I may have inadvertently offended you. It was certainly not intended.

I was simply agreeing with your previous post about having a list of suitable vehicles as a ‘Plan B’. Posted more as an ‘aide memoire’ for others, who as you rightly say, may be caught out by any vehicle leaving the scheme with little or no notice.

Lol I have been watching loads of EV3 videos and was going to look at them today.

As I’m not due to order on the 28th September it looks like I’ll have to wait until Q4 pricing.

Seems to me the scheme is getting worse and worse.

                    No offence taken at all.

TBH The EV3 did appear on my list as did 2 others that have recently disappeared, but I’m way off my order window and can reset my options.

Wouldn’t like to be someone who had their heart set on a EV3, perhaps struggled to get the increased AP then have the rug pulled away from them.

Same happened to me last October.

Its quite sad, the EV3 particularly the GT Line S was hard to beat for the amount of features you’d get, the only cars similar to it are ghe Ariya, and the MG S5 EV Trophy when you factor in all the features plus the boot space with the seats up.

Having years of experience of being a Motability customer, I know how it works, as my own Motability car was only on the list for about six weeks, back in 2024.

But I can fully understand how new or inexperienced Motability customers can be caught out by assuming that if the Quarter list lasts for three month’s, then they have that three month window to order any car that is on that Quarter’s list, due to there being no mention of “while supplies are available”, which can be for a very limited time, much less than the 3 month Quarterly window.

The more disabled you are, the more complicated and lengthy the process can be to pick a suitable car and adaption’s to meet your very individualistic  disability needs.

Now I know the EV6 and Ev3 are not the same cars but Kia have gone backwards with the interior, control setup, charging speeds. I had a EV3 for a day and felt like a step back in time .  Tech still great and the ride was better than expected but everything else was a let down.

just trying to make you feel better

I complexity agree but we all learn the ropes some quicker than others

While I completly understand why the scheme has to work this way

I think a min 7 day heads up before removal of any car would help a few people

This is what makes this forum a must as the mobility scheme is and always will be fluid and imo its best when possible going forward to have a plan A B and C and pounce asap

That said I recognize that becomes not only more difficult with less choice but also when combined with ones particular disabilities

Also a lot harder when someone is struggling to find an affordable AP

The EV3 was in my top 3 in fact it was N01 at one point but I backed off due to some of its reported failures that for me personally were red flags

Some improvements have since been made but others that remain are a red flag for me but will be acceptable to others

The EV2 is one to look out for imo

                              The EV3 will return.

It is just bad timing, and you never know what is going to be on offer when your window opens for the next vehicle.

Meanwhile you will be stuck for choice as the market is getting flooded by Chinese vehicles.

A year ago Jaecoo were unknown, now they are everywhere.

I dont know what deal yhey did but in terms of features, price and boot space I think the ID.4 Match Pure is closest to the EV3 Air. In terms of tech and range, the Kia EV4 Air is closest in terms of tech but you lose on boot space as its lower to the ground.

Forgot to mention as well but its a bit bigger than the ID.4 let alone bigger than EV3 but the Skoda Enyaq 85 SE L is worth looking at given its AP

It was highly unusual, but a few years ago the Enyaq was too popular and Skoda, cancelled orders as they could not meet demand. Certainly there were supply line problems, and the factories had to do this to catch up.

Sometimes, a vehicle gets too popular, and to curb demand they put the price up.

Currently, the Enyaq is about the only decent vehicle on the scheme at a reasonable price, hence its popularity.

There are better deals out there, just not with Motability.

It wouldnt be a surprise if they removed the Enyaq from the scheme atleast temporarily, the massive wait times to get a new vehicle from them doesnt point to a positive sign, though that would limit the EV options considerably.

I myself have ordered a Tesla Model 3. Its £200/month. I added £17/month for tyresan maintenance. Insurance is £50/month. Brings it up to £267/month.

Motability take £340/ month for their cars so am up £70 month.

                                                Its £2500 AP, 8K miles/ year and on a 2 year lease.

But there are better deals at Select car leasing.com.

Important to note here the Hyundia Kona Electric is back on here, the Kona and EV3 are very very similar and priced actually less on all fronts. The boot is actually better spaced in the Kona, you can get a 100kg boot hoist, i know the EV3 when I spoke you could only get a 80kg folding hoist.

The Kona was my top choice befofe fhe Enyaq, but I needed a 150kg hoist. Albeit you do lose out on some features, for example the adaptive cruise control is not as good on the Kona and you can no longer get the lux pack
