EU member states are likely to support the imposition of proposed tariffs on Chinese electric vehicles in November, according to the bloc’s trade chief. Valdis Dombrovskis, the European commissioner for trade, said the 27 countries — who are often divided on China-related matters — would back measures to help the domestic auto industry compete with imports that he said received big subsidies from Beijing. “It’s clear that member states realise the need to protect the EU’s car industry because this risk of injury is there. Chinese battery electric vehicle market share is growing very rapidly. That subsidisation is there,” he told the Financial Times. “So it’s certainly an issue that needs to be addressed.”

…And in return China opens tit for tat anti dumping probe into EU pork and will highly likely impose provisional anti dumping measures on at least three of the biggest EU pork producers. China has also become best buddies with Australia, for their pork.

The measures will also add tariffs although at a lower rate, to EU auto manufacturers building EV’s in China with their Chinese partners and shipping them to be sold in europe (EU).

If anti dumping measures prove unsuccessful China will implement higher tariffs on the battery cells its ships to europe, for use in european (EU) manufactured EV batteries.

The conumer will be the looser, as is normal in these trade spats – Pork will go up due to the increased cost of the full carcass, with the potential price increases on EU manufactured EV’s, should china add higher tariffs on battery cells it ships to europe!

Ha, lets put Liz Truss on the case (now she has lost her MP seat):
