As the current lease terms remain in place until 1 July when the Motability changes come in, I may stick with Motability for another three years.
I can order my replacement car from 28 June, so just in by a few days. However, if i require any letter / invite and it’s late being sent out to me, can I still place an order?

Do you have a Motability online account Doug? if so you can see all the details in there. Just in case. But hopefully the mail arrives on time. I suppose you could ask motability customer service about this to be on the safe side.

Do you mean your 36 month lease ends on 1st July or your 3 month notice renewal date. If your lease ends on the 1st July you you should receive you renewal window around 1st April, I and expecting mine 9th May.
Unfortunately I have suffered a brain injury and occasionally I get confused and often say the wrong thing.
February 26, 2026 at 1:47 pm #338587My lease ends 29 Sept, my online account says I can place an order from 28 June. From that I assume I should have the letter before or on 28 June.

The dealer will have all the information of your order window on their system, which will also be available in your online account, along with your PIN.

February 27, 2026 at 11:59 pm #338649i got my letter today. i am ordering tommorrow, but from what i can see you dont need the letter just the award letter detailing the mobility award you have and any limit on the award. mines openended i know some pip are for a stated period.
the letter spends time explaining the new higher excess charges on insurance and windscreen and the under30 rules with the drive smart restrictions.also spells out that the dont automatically extend on low mileage etc. although they do acknowledge the will extend if your new car is delayed.
covering their backs lol.
March 1, 2026 at 12:14 pm #338697Hi If anyone can help it would be appreciated
Being one of the first to get PIP
I had sent in my light touch review form and glad to say a letter arrived to say I kept my ongoing award high rate on both counts
My question is this on this letter unlike other older letters its detail is a little vague
It said
{We have looked at the information you have provided and decided your PIP award will stay the same}
I understand its contents
But DWP simply saying it stays the same will not be understood by others( no mention of rate or any further break down of the award )
The dealer in fact anyone else reading that will not understand my actual award when I hand it over whilst reordering another car in june
No mention of ongoing as before as it was on older letters
I assume a letter no older than 6 months with full details of my award would indeed be needed
I assume a call to DWP is needed
Any advice appreciated

You can ask the DWP for a breakdown of your award, but I’d rate for your your annual uprating letter highlighting April’s increases.

I cant remember but would the uprating letter highlighting April’s increases help at all as it would need to show length of award

Come to think about it, it doesn’t show length of award. Give it a couple weeks incase of late post or delays sending it out and give then ring them if it doesn’t turn up.
March 1, 2026 at 3:00 pm #338702i went in and ordered yesterday, my letter april 2025 from veterans simply stated my war pension would increase to xxxx it didnt break it down into the different elements. the 2024 letter broke it down to war pension, lower standard of occupation and mobility less the payment to motability. both had an open date.
i took both into kia just in case and he copied the 2024 one with the breakdown.
today ive had an email from kia confirming the car has been ordered on their system jst waiting for motability to catch up as it said i had to wait until 29 feb.
March 1, 2026 at 3:25 pm #338704just checked on the motability site my lease details and now it will let me apply for new car ive filled in the questions so the dealer should be ok on monday.

Google told me to download . Gov App pick benefit required and Boom printed out a more detailed letter of award and can choose to have them send you a copy as well
{Thank you for asking for a copy of your PIP
Statement of Entitlement.
You have been awarded PIP as follows:
The enhanced rate of the daily living component from
and including 19 January 2026 for an indefinite
period.
The enhanced rate of the mobility component from
and including 19 January 2026 for an indefinite
period.
As you have been awarded PIP you may be able to
get other benefits and services. You can use this
document to show you have been awarded PIP}You think the award letter first sent out would have had this info Inc tbh
I did notice for the first time that my award wording had gone from Ongoing to now indefinite (same thing as all benefit awards are open to future review) but expect it to be 10yrs again
Handy App tbh once ID been setup GOV.UK One Login/App proves identity and works in conjunction with .Gov online login
