Dealer offer dilemma

I have been out for some test drives and decided on the car I want, I was convinced I was due for delivery in January but when I hunted out my current agreement its early February :@

This would be fine except the dealers just contacted me, the exact car I want in top spec is going on a manager’s special and they are allowing me 1st preference, with AP slashed to less than half!

They suggested I could cancel my current lease early, is this so? What would the ramifications of this be?

Any advice greatly appreciated, and with haste! Lol as this is a deal that’s not going to be on the plate for long.

Thanks for the advice everyone. I’m going to ring motability and have a chat.

<span style=”text-align: center;”>I dont think I’ll be eligible for my gcb anyway as I have a dent and scrape to passenger door. </span>

Kev I was just lucky that the dealer contacted me to say they have my car in stock and need it shifted so willing to do the deal.

I’m not surprised it’s bmw. The discounts they were offering on the m3/4 shortly after launch were huge and many early buyers were furious and lost a lot of money.

The new 4 door 2 series grand coupe is about to be launched (new 1 series with a boot), so they will want to shift old 2 series stock.

I’m thinking Alfa Romeo may offer similar on a guilia? The current private lease deals are way better than motability. Lower deposit, similar monthlies with much better models.

Does this apply if you’re in the last 3 months when you can normally order anyway? I’ve been told I can get the Tiguan R-Line pretty much immediately from one dealer but the 3 years on the Volvo isn’t up until very early in January, although I’ve had the go-ahead letter from Motability to order my next car

Kev, I didn’t know that there was a 4 door on the way. It is lovely. But I doubt it would be on the scheme for a while after release?

I spoke to Motability, as I have had multiple unresolved issues with my current car (& dealer) since the lease began, they said they could perhaps waive the admin fee if I terminate early. Someone from complaints is calling me tomorrow to discuss further.

The girl on the phone also said that I would get up 400 gcb, once the car is assessed.

I will keep you all posted. Thanks for the advice guys 🙂

The 1 series and cla came onto the list at launch. Wouldn’t surprise me in the new 2 gc does too.

The coupe will be a better drive being rwd though.

Colin, my dealer did say that if I wasnt allowed early cancellation then I would have to wait until my exchange date regardless of whether the car was delivered. Worth asking I suppose.

Kev, even it if does come on right from the off, the AP would most likely be ridiculous and beyond my reach. This will be a tidy saving (if it comes through) and you’re right, it will be a better drive!
