I guess that the same argument could be made about many of the things that the government spends in total over £1 trillion a year on.
In the case of Universal Studios, whilst I have no time for this disastrous government, I think that this is money well spent. The theme park will create tens of thousands of jobs and generate billions to the U.K. economy and will be a much valued addition to the U.K.s leisure industry. It will also be something for people to look forward to in an era where everything is gloom and doom.
The money is mostly being used to create rail links so that many of the visitors can access the park by train, thus lessening the inevitable pressures on the road network in that area. Seems sensible to me. I don’t for one minute agree with any of the changes this government is making to Motability, as it is mean spirited and has been done for optics rather than having any basis in logic, but neither would I support stalling our economy.

June 4, 2026 at 4:51 pm #362098The government expect changes to the scheme will put £1bn into the pot. The theme park, will add alot more to the pot and create jobs at the same time.

A big difference to the £16 Billion wasted on illegal immigrants, that’s where the savings in motability are going, not an income generating theme park already puttogether before two tier was in power.
How about the rail to nowhere, HS2, which gas cost so fat £44billion

Do you always complain about everything or just the things that you have no areas of expertise or indeed accuracy in?
