Changing Name with DWP

      “Out flew the web and floated wide;
      The mirror crack’d from side to side;
      ‘The curse is come upon me,’ cried
      The Lady of Shalott.”

      Has anyone actually managed this and can advise on how to do it swiftly and without suffering, please?

      I tried to be a chevalier, riding to the aid of a damsel in distress, who simply needed her name changed on PIP. Alas, not quite the gallant quest I imagined. There is no information to be found anywhere, not even Dr Google could, save for an 0800 number one is expected to ring.

      I cannot fathom the logic. One would assume there might be a secure link for uploading a copy of her driving licence, or at the very least an address to which the original document could be posted. But no. Nothing of the sort.

      I have attempted to call the DWP’s PIP line several times, waited patiently (and long enough to grow a beard), yet to no avail.

        I assume its comes under “report a change”, which can be done by phoning the enquiry line.

        You could ask on Benefits and Work if your a paid up member (mines not long expired ot I’d ask)

          My sub is still valid so had a gander. Very little information on it. Some posts go back years, most recent one was six months ago.

          Most people want to know if it will trigger a review, only one said it won’t. Or are worried about being forced onto universal credit. That’s how old they are. Only one mod (volunteer) states that it won’t trigger a review, but they are not benefit advisors so check with your local benefits advisor as it not in their remit to answer this type of question.

          None mention how to go about it, except for contacting your local benefit office who deals with your claim.

          Sorry not much help TBH.

            Oh well… sounds like a tedious task for next week.

            Thank you both.
