Hi all,
Just been emailed by OVO about their charge anytime app and the change of tariff. I was fortunate to get the Skoda offer of free miles (10,000) per year over 3 years and 1000 free miles in addition as a loyalty bonus. The tariff rate was 7 pence per KWh which by any calculation was very good. This was because we took possession of the car on the 29th September 2025 (the last day of the offer).
The charge anytime app changed in November putting the tariff up to 14p per KWh. However, as a gesture of good will they added an additional credit on the bill bringing it back to 7p perKWh. From the 1st April this will no longer apply and 14p per KWh is the norm. The free miles add on is not affected.
The only slight kink which may be of interest is that like may providers they have charging plans where you pay for expected usage. A word of warning the unused KW do not carried over if not used and similarly any KW over your prepaid limit reverts to your domestic supply tariff.
In our case we do on average 550 Kwh a month so if we were to take their prepaid offer of 500Kwh at £79.50 the additional hours add about £12.oo to the bill whereas if we only use the 14p per KWh charge anytime tariff the total is around £77.00 rather than £91.50. In fairness to OVO there are some perks with the pre paid plans but no enough for us to choose it particularly if you have a quieter month (school holidays) where the mileage/KWh drops.
Hope the above is helpful.
